Oh wait we use Ranks for Factions. Job Ratings? Job Tiers? Tier 1=basic Tier 2=apprentice Tier 3=journeyman Tier 4=master Also how about the levels/ranks/tiers whatever they get called come every 4 or 5 levels. Having had trouble keeping some crew with certain jobs around for the long term it's been a bit of a struggle to get both good coverage of the basic talents and see the options for the higher levels. Also think Crew Dogs either need more basic talents to choose from or else there needs to be a reduction in the Ship Ops soak so fewer of them are needed for efficient management. As an example I have only 1 Crew Dog in my current game that's attained high enough level to unlock the next set of talents, yet my least experienced Crew Dog is level 6, I have 6 Crew Dogs with each of the 4 basic talents and I'm only at 121% for Ship Ops. In contrast for Pilot my lowest is level 5, I'm at 131% soak and not a single Pilot has taken Guided Fire yet. 4 have Expert Maneuver, 3 have Sharp Steering, 3 have Sure Landfall and 1 has Evasive Maneuvers. My ship has a number of upgrades for Pilot, Nav and Weapons but the soaks remain strongly in favor of Ship Ops.

We are working on additional Crew Dog talents, I agree totally. Ship Ops soak seems very balanced where it is, but if the math proves it needs more work, I'll go back to the graphs.

I always end up firing a Pilot or 2 so I can get more ship ops and gunnery. This probably means something isn't balanced best, but it may be that the problem is with the starting ship gear, not really being something you can grow into. Until the vanishing component problem goes away, I haven't felt that it was cost effective to swap ship components.

Oh wait we use Ranks for Factions. Job Ratings? One of these things is precisely 'When you reach a higher pay grade'. 'Echelon' is a synonym for Level/Rank that doesn't get used much. It has Military connotations, but that is no problem here.

Major rebalance on new Talent breaks -- now at 1 / 5 / 8 / 11 Job levels.
This means for Crew, that you'll never be able to take more than 66% of your available Talents at any given time.
We've taken a roadmap task to add another Talent to the 2 already granted at 5, so that it becomes never more than 57%.

Right now when you want to assign a new talent to a member of your crew you get this screen. The information about how many members of your crew has the talent is on the RHS, which means you only get to see it by making a selection. This means that you have to click on every single talent for every single crewmember, which is frustrating and tedious. The text is duplicated both places, and only needed one place. What you want is a list of talents with the number of crewmembers who share it, already shown, because most of the time that is all the information you will need to make a selection with one click. Either I know for certain that I want <talent x> regardless of how many other people have it, or I want to add a talent purely based on how many others already have it. Something small, like a number in the bottom right corner of the screen, below the job symbol would be perfectly acceptable, since it is just a way to speed up things.

grävling - thanks for the feedback. We'll see if it is possible to move it into the table without a significant slow down.
