I have tried to reproduce this from the title, which is the only detail in the entire bug report I failed to reproduce. I tried for 10 minutes and didn't find any bug. Please enter details for the bug report into the body of the post. Please do not try to summarize the entire bug report in the title of a post. Please include platform details in bug reports. The very best way to write a bug report is, 1. Click this 2. Click that 3. See Y, that is a bug

I want to load a new captain. I cannot remember the name of the captain I want, and cannot tell if this is the correct one, as what I want to load is 'my captain with all the contacts'. Number of contacts aren't listed, nor are skills and attributes, which again may be the information that distinguishes this captain from some other ones you have. Having the LHS show the professions of the captain will also cut down on your search time.

Thanks for the details, now we've got something we can discuss at least.
This is not a change from how the game worked in any previous release, that is always the detail screen that is shown when you are loading a game. That summary includes every single detail we are able to fetch without a major performance overhead that no one would tolerate.
Wish we could do more, and I will talk to Cory about it. But I don't think anyone would tolerate a multi-second delay to get the Captain details on screen.

Ah, so I am remembering the template screen then?
Since you already know what template started this, can you list the A B C D E order choices?

We don't know what template started it anymore. We don't have a guarantee that you didn't delete the template since then.
Wish we could do more, and I will talk to Cory about it. But I don't think anyone would tolerate a multi-second delay to get the Captain details on screen.

My confusion was also with the Templates screen. When I went into to reproduce, I also expected to see the template screen for some reason.
I am afraid there will be very little we can do here.
I take comfort in the fact that all of our games actually get by with less.
If the technical requirements of connecting to a saved game change enough to get non-header data out, we'll definitely adjust the amount of information you can see here.
We may also add a "detailed view" feature at some point that does the full game load so it can get contacts / attributes and stuff from the game.
But like Andrew said, that's going to take a few seconds on most devices and we cannot do it every click in Manage Games.

Understood. It may be something I find myself needing as a tester far more than I would as a real player, in that 'exactly the same build but with this tiny difference' is a thing you do when testing more than any other time.

Definitely true. I've been straining the Capt. naming field myself coming up with shorthand to identify captains with certain bugs i'm working on isolating.
We'll keep trying to improve what we can show here.

We certainly can't show everything, but if you wanted to provide a list fields you thought would be most important, that would help us in the future.
For example, would Attributes really be that valuable?

For example, would Attributes really be that valuable? Too soon for me to tell, in general. Right now, sure, as I am trying to figure out if my captains with lots of attribute points but few skill points outperform those with lots of skill points but few attribute points. All I can conclude is 'I still suck at playing this game'.

Skills are valuable, though. I have discovered that if I put 4 points into Command no matter what sort of captain I am creating, the early game goes better. But that I am naming captains '4dr4tac' is an indication of an itch I cannot scratch properly.

Can we get job icons on the 'list all the captains' left hand side screen? We can only get the primary job icon. We can work on getting it into the main table.
