Based on player feedback and gathered player data / performance metrics I am reworking game difficulty.
This will not change your alpha phase 1 experience picking difficulty, but it will allow for far more expressive custom difficulties.
This set of changes focuses on making difficulty scaling more granular for ship and crew combat. This weekend I spent some hours studying Star Traders RPG's difficulty scheme and I think the new ST2 changes will be a major benefit for you.

I have been tempted to start this work as early as v1.0.19 but I just needed more data. It seems like starting with v1.0.21 people are fighting a lot more, and I think I've got enough data to see clearly. Helps to have the lessons from ST RPG and CK RPG in my pocket.
