Got in a fight with a Pirate. Survived closing to boarding range with minimal damage to ship and crew and sent my 4 on patrol combat types across. They clobbered the enemy and while 3 were wounded none actually went down in fight. Following turn I elected to board again and decided not to risk my injured patrol members so sent my Doctor/Combat Medic and 2 other uninjured crew members across with the remaining fully healthy Soldier. When selecting crew everyone wanted to be in position 3 despite being armed with pistols or blades which I found odd. On start of crew combat the Soldier that I'd assigned to the back of party with her Sniper rifle didn't show up. Luckily no enemy crew showed up to fight either so it was a free raid. After winning the battle and returning to port I saw I was short crew on my status screen. Knew one Crew Dog had decided to quit but couldn't figure out the other 4 I had lost until I did a review of my entire Crew Manifest one character sheet at a time. Turns out all 4 of my On Patrol crew had somehow been turned into Zombies and had to be replaced. (Very painful since they were all original crew members and between level 7 and 11)
Know On Patrol status will be going away in next version, but need to insure that selected crew actually show up for combat. If they are intelligible for some reason then we shouldn't be able to select them. Also what slot in formation they prefer should be driven by the weapon they are equipped with unless they have some trait that makes them want to avoid combat/cower in back. Also need a better way to see who's been injured during ship combat and so we're at least aware of the death or potential death of various crew.

Is this with manually equipped weapons for Crew members? They're asking for slot based on Talents.
If you run into these types of data corruption bugs, the best thing to do is stop playing and send me the saved game file.
There are some bugs somewhere that cause maybe 1 in 500 Crew combats to generate some type of damage to Crew members.
I'm trying to figure it out and a saved game file would help immensely.

Regarding a better way to see who's been injured ... in "Combat Resolution" use the detail tabs to review deaths, injuries, status, XP and combat results for Crew and ship.
