Incidentally, as a matter of style, when the number of things to be filtered is small, 5 choices or under, I don't like it when you tap on a heading, and then get a popup that asks you to select what to use as a filter, and then you make a selection. I just want the header to tell you what it's filtering rule is, and cycle through the choices with every tap.

Especially as the buttons to filter with are very small on some phone screens...

And fingers, contrary to what people initially assume, are really not very good pointing devices (in the context of touch screens) -- but they are excellent tapping devices.
