Matchweave (crew)suits

Not necessarily a bug, but I noticed that the default armor with Weapons Locker 1 is Matchweave Crewsuit, and that there's also a Small ship component called Matchweave Suits (50% crew protection during operations). The similarity of the names may be confusing to some people.

Is Matchweave a specific technology in the ST universe?

So if a crew is wearing one of these and somebody shoots a hole in my ship, and he floats out, he gets to live? Why do I want 'em? in other words. Do they provide any protection in ship combat?

No, they are protective gear for exploring.

I prefer the Hyperion Exo-suits (I think I have the name right?) myself. Is there anything in the code to prevent crew from having more than one type of suit?

Only the highest level of each type would be used. If you have Hyperion and Matchweave, only Hyperion will be used.

Every time they are used, the Hyperion Exo-Suit component suffers damage. Therefore, when it is not longer usable, the Matchweave component would be used.

Or you could double install the Hyperion, and Explore with protection twice as long.
