There is no doubt many types of ships will become available over time. This morning I couldn't remember that I was flying a Juror class just by looking at the silhouette.
The Status display is available on planets, and outer space. Would it be possible to add ship class name? (I just slapped a label in as a place holder) I don't know what you are planning when Ship Design becomes available. Perhaps the player could add their own name, just as they name their own captain today.
(I played several games last night, went to bed at 7:00 a.m. Loaded up one of the captains this afternoon, Wait what ship am I flying again?)

You'll be able to name your own ship eventually.
At the moment, you can see the ship name over the main map, top right.

nay, John Robinson being a creative member of an alpha test team means never being afraid to make mistakes. Laughing at yourself is fine. Feeling embarassed .... be careful with that one. Don't let it control and inhibit you. Glad you are revelling in a new opportunity to be entertaining. If I thought you were serious about really whacking yourself, metaphorically or otherwise, I would be sending in the rescue squad. Civilisation is all about making spaces where it is safe, and even encouraged to make mistakes. It is how we learn best, after all. It's not about making spaces where anybody who makes mistakes gets shot, thus ensuring spaces are mistake free. This is the recipe for killing all creativity in your space, permanently, forever. (Hmm, @earthsuit maybe would like to read this) |

P.s. completely agree, the ship name will be added to the status screen. Just pointing out where it can be found today, and that you'll be able to give your ship a name.
