I'm wondering if there are plans to allow contacts who offer special gear or services to provide things that are truly one-of-a-kind.
[Note that the following are meant as entertaining tid-bits and in no way attempt to even approximate what a serious sci-fy reality simulator would even dream of providing....]
- A starport mechanic that offers a special upgrade to a particular ship's component.
- An ex-bounty hunter with a (almost) fool-proof way of capturing a fugitive.
- Maybe a prince that can offer a pardon in a faction other than his own affiliation.
== Caveats should, of course, abound ==
- That special xeno-killing-super-duper-flechette-lance the mechanic sold you has a tendency to implode at a critical juncture in a fight. Oh, and he wants a special piece of xeno-tech before he'll build the special xeno-killing-super-duper-flechette-lance anyway.
- The fugitive manages to be able to capture you instead. This transaction can only be completed over a case of 300 year old Parnviorian single malt whiskey.
- The prince had an argument with the cousin of the brother of the uncle to the mother of the princess of the opposing faction and the "favor" he asked for causes you to lose 300 rep instead of getting a pardoned. But, before the royal memos start flying around, the prince would really consider it a personal favor if you would bring him a box of Zander cream-filled-double-chocolate-layered-cherry-in-the-middle-cadar-torpedo-shaped-brownie-muffins first.
