Has the Trese Brothers or anyone here try to set up a Discord server yet? I am quite surprised something like that hasn't been set up yet, especially at how accessible and easy it is to get going. A lot of people lately have been jumping on the bandwagon for this program which is like Skype in a few ways but easy to set up. Reddit groups started using it, small communities and so on.
What is it? Well, like I alluded to it is like Skype - a voice and IM program that you can use through a web browser or download to PC, Tablets and Phones. Doesn't even have to be downloaded to use, just sign up with an email and you're good to go. For people to join a server, all someone would have to do is make a join link and voila, anyone who clicks it can join up.
On a Side Note:
I love how interaction I've seen from you guys and thoroughly enjoying your games on Android, Heroes of Steel was actually the first game I even debated purchasing with my money followed by Templar Battleforce and I am enjoying it!

I use Discord a lot personally, and really find it to be a wonderful platform.
I think the reason we don't have our Discord server setup is fear that we don't have enough time.
We do struggle to keep up with just the forum and trying to work Twitch into the schedule has been a challenge.
I think our fear is the we make a Discord server, don't have time for it, and it becomes a failure.

Totally agree, discord server would be a great thing for this forum even if TB can't keep up with it community is strong enough to keep it running

A Discord doesn't take much to run, a few forum regulars/patreon supporters could act as moderators even.

As Cory Trese mentioned, we are basically drowning in work and responsibilities, and I've seen 2 AM working almost every single night in 2017. If the forum crew wants to set up a Discord server and post here, we will sticky it, but we can't put any time and effort into it. Unfortunately, there are only 2 of us, and if we take another thing onto our plate, we have to push something else off. |
