Better, hard to miss warnings about rep loss for those trades would be good. I traded into a Trade Ban without realizing it. Didn't see the warnings, as they were off my small Android screen. (To be precise you may see the top 1/8th of the icon, but very easy to miss).
Ideally the warning would provide a sense of the magnitude of rep loss. Instead of numbers maybe word linked to ranges: --Loose a little rep (0-5) --Loose some rep (6-10) --Loose rep (10-20) --Loose a lot of rep (21+) Those examples are for illustrative purposes only. I'm sure something better could be developed.

Didn't see the warnings, as they were off my small Android screen. This I will definitely fix. What device?

Dunno about tenbsmith, but I can also barely see the top of the warning.

Agreed. Requires updates to fix bugs The warning is now the very first thing in the display, front, center, top.

Does reputation fade over time? If I have -10 rep with a faction and keep a low profile, will it recover back to 0 rep? And if so, how long does it take?
By the same token, will +rep with a favoured contact fade if I do not keep dropping in regularily and running a couple of missions for them?

If you just don't do anything for/against a specific faction for a long while (especially considering a star-trader lives for so much longer than 'regulars'), their rep, both positive AND negative, would start to fade some, as the various faction governments have less and less living people to know why they hate your captain that much... And it would be one way (if not very easy, as you'd have to cherry pick missions expertly) to get a bad rep low enough to get a pardon out of it, or at least a chance to work with a contact to improve rep without being shot out of the sky immediately. Also, as the game design goes on.... would swapping ships help that also? I think it did a bit in original ST, did it not?

For some people, it makes total sense. For others, it makes no sense at all. We have done it both ways in our games. We're always learning from our previous releases. Thanks for the feedback.

Well, can think of it like an actual Family Feud... Over time, both sides just know there is a feud. Not why.. so could be more accepting of someone willing to be nicer from the other side as it were.. Given, with the computer systems available.. there would still be things that could be researched.. But the personal 'history' between the Captain/ship and the governments or at least governors/princes/etc wouldn't be there anymore.

Cory Trese, sorry but what was the answer here? Does rep fade or is it static? Not having played ST I don't have a point of reference.

Cory Trese not sure it is feasible but perhaps something similar to CK's Global Heat/Faction Rep system where how agressive factions you have very bad rep with go after you. If I've just been engaged in activities that cause rep loss they will be more agressive throughout the Galaxy, however if I've been avoiding their quadrants and not taking missions or attacking their ships they generally become much less hostile in any situations.

ST2 already using a really awesome system. Way more advanced than CK's was.
