Can you make it work like the CK button, where if you are navigating somewhere, you can tap it again and just stop?
Right now I don't know how I am supposed to stop a navigation, when I notice things like 'whoops, looks like you won't have enough waterfuel when you reach that wormhole' and 'captain got fragged, head for a planet with a doctor'.

That's true, but it makes it weirder that nav doesn't stop the ship.

Sorry.

I like gravling's request for click on navigate button stops movement.
Click anywhere on map to stop works intermittently for me. Sometimes I have to click several times before it works. Sometimes I click one time too many and my ship goes in the wrong direction, frustrating. I think my problems with click anywhere to stop may be due to playing on a small screen.
My 5 inch screen makes buttons small. I often have to tap a button multiple times before it works. I think that is due to my large finger taping both the button and surrounding pixels. If so, larger buttons would help.
I suspect clicking anywhere to stop movement has similar issues.

I don't think they're related at all. We will keep trying to improve the Touch UI.
I am, however, suuuuper surprised to hear it works "intermittently"
I guess we'll have to dig into your specific device an the touchscreen viability for the game at some point in the final phase of the alpha.
Right now we're focusing on major bugs and reference device support. Once we get past that we can get into specific device patches.

I am facing intermittant button problems, but very rarely, on my device since the upgrade to Nougat. It's google mail that seems to have the worst time of it for me. So maybe it is Nougat.

Buttons I think more than anything, separate issue related to the DPI and button size. Some screens just aren't that accurate.
Stop moving thing, seperate issue probably device specific, Nougat included in reference device collect 3x

Well one oddness I have is with Smart Keyboard Pro play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.cdeguet.smartkeyboardpro but only since Nougat. Smartkeyboard Pro is a nice keyboard, that works in that it has 2 letters on each key, one for long press and one for regular press. And since Nougat, every so often, the detect a long press just goes away. If you flip your keyboard into portrait mode, the ability comes back, and so you can then flip things back to landscape mode. It's quite odd, and leads me to believe that Nougat must be doing things under the hood.

I'll play around with this more. Taping on a planet may more consistently stop ship movement. Or maybe a sightly longer tap.
I can't rule out a flaw with my specific device, Waze seems to detect ghost taps.

I have same issue too. Although in my case might have more to do with my finger rather than device. I tend to jab too pointedly (not enough surface area to register) when trying to stop. Hitting the Nav button with my thumb is easier though.

Nav Button == Cancel -> Fixed for next. This is nice, easier than I thought to use. Spent a few hours trying to replicate device issues with touch screens and the map, but couldn't Fortunately, we're using the same touch driver that we used for BF, Heroes, ST 4X ... so if we do actually have some issues with it not recognizing touches they're global and probably something we can fix since it will effect thousands of installs!

Well, my problem was a Nvidia 5.0 specific one. And it is supposedly fixed in the 5.1 update that came out this morning.

I'd love to read about it, always interested. If the update still leaves you with an issue, please report and we'll chase it. The next update has "navigation button also functions as cancel button" in it, which definitely makes it quicker.
