Hello
ST elite and 4x player here. Eagerly awaiting ST2! I am still playing this game on and of after many years. I have noticed that there is no more updates for iOS. The version is nothing close to what I am reading of the android version. I am assuming that due to developments we won't get parity. I hope that with ST2 all players will get roughly the same version. Looking for some reassurance as it is disheartening reading of features and content I can never get.

Thing is that the iOS version of ST was a custom port (obj-c vs Java I believe)... All their other multi-platform games, including ST2 use a cross platform game library, so everything doesn't have to be done from scratch for each supported platform.
AFAIK Cory Trese still supports ST on iOS, but having to rebuild everything for the different code base means he just doesn't have time to get to it as often. Plus since it's an outlier in their support expertise, I believe it takes additional time getting up to speed on Apple's changes. Their newest games are multi-platform from the start, so aside from a relative few things (device specifics etc), support on one is support for all platforms the cross platform library compiles to.

Thank you for the reply wascal.. This is somewhat reassuring. All of our games, starting with Heroes of Steel, are built in C++ and have 100% parity on all mobile platforms (Heroes, Star Traders 4X Empire, Templar Battleforce, and Star Traders 2, and all future games). Star Traders RPG is coming up on its 7th birthday. It was our very first game we ever developed. We made a lot of mistakes while learning about this idustry, our apologies that they are historical now and there is no way that we can change or fix them. We'll continue to improve, that we can promise.
