Totally awesome wiki leveling table. There it is, everything needed. Can an absinthe riddled mind understand it? The table below has not been verified by play testing. This table may be a complete misunderstanding of the data contained in the wiki table. Captain and Officers: Allow 3 jobs. All Jobs ("primary" and "secondary") for your Captain count toward the 3 maximum. (thanks fallen) Crew: Have 1 Job max . Crew are relegated to one position. You can pick their Talents, and promote them to Officer if you wish. They don't command other crew, and they don't lead. They are a Pilot, or they work in the engine room, or they man the guns, or they fight if the ship is boarded. J-R: Job Rank. Tals: Talents ST2 | Levels | : | Captains | : | Officers | : | Crew |

What I want to know, is when you promote a crew of level x to officer, how many new job trains does he or she get, depending on level. I know if I wait a while, I get somebody I can stick 2 levels of combat medic into, which is what I do a lot, as combat medics have a sad habit of getting killed when serving with me. And the starter crew have such nice stats .... you, over there. you get to be combat med #3. (all her friends start mourning, knowing she is likely not long for this world.)

We think re-spec will fix this. Possible we will need to add automatic respec on promote? (This post cost me $1 in data to make.)

Because I plan to make 8 posts and then log off. Southwest charged me $8 for this WiFi connection ... which is really slow and crappy plus won't connect to my workstation at home

It's a good thing you have a few fun games to play!

(all her friends start mourning, knowing she is likely not long for this world.) grävling I think this can be answered from the wiki table. Reading across a row from the Character Level: At Character Level 17 the Officer has Job Rank 17 and the Crew has Job Rank 10 so on promotion you should get 7 Job Ranks (and 2 Talents) to train. At Character Level 18 the Officer has Job Rank 18 and the Crew has Job Rank 10 so on promotion you should get 8 Job Ranks (and 2 Talents) to train.

bobc - that is the correct way to read the table. Promoting a high level crew member to a high level officer will come with a huge bunk in Job Ranks and Talents.
