Within the mission description, I've noticed a variety of info (or lack thereof). While the mission offer will always state the # of jumps (and sequential # of jumps for multiple locations... very very good!), sometimes the mission description will list only meeting up with a person (no location info provided). Usually it is the 'home' location, but I've noticed a few times that it wasn't clear at all to me where the heck the mission was going to take me (from the info in the description). Since we are early in alpha, it's not a big deal (to me), I'm just testing the mechanics, etc... but, It would be great to be consistent in the mission descriptions with each 'waypoint' of the mission include the Planet name, Quadrant name. This partially addresses John Robinson concern with the missions/galactic map (at least we have the name), and allows us to help ID multiple mission offers that are close to each other. Currently, I am surprised when I accept multiple missions, and find the waypoints are actually in the same quadrant, and from the mission descriptions, it wasn't clear to me that they were in the same neighborhood. Ditto for accepting missions from multiple contacts. ex. Mission One: Go meet Cadar contact on planet YY and bring back the cube. Mission Two: Find evidence of a crash on planet ZZ in Quadrant QQ. I discover after accepting both that they both in Quadrant QQI don't have specific examples (yet), but John Robinson 's thread started em thinking on this. I'll try and find a few examples and post some screenshots.

Sometimes you get this information when you take a mission, for the first stop of a multi-stop undertaking, but not for the other ones. I'd like all this information for all the stops.

It's not consistent or clear in all cases, but especially in multi-step missions as you point out. It's probably clear to TB (and they have probably thought through it), but one example is below: Here is my galactic map, I'm heading back to my 'home' Cadar quadrant, but I have a Thulun Prince contact in my current quadrant who is offering me a few missions (and they are usually very profitable): My first option is 4 jumps at Rubicante, probably the wrong direction. (I know, I can go back out to the galactic map and hover every quadrant to find the planet, but... really?) My second mission option is 3 jumps to Cybutania... maybe this is in my home quadrant? or not. again, too much work to figure out what quadrant the planet is in...) I figure when we get our galactic 'diary' with places we've been, planets we've visited, etc... we'll know a lot more from a navigation pre-planning standpoint as discussed here, but it would also be good to include the base planet/quadrant info on the mission offers/descriptions as a piece of the information communication.

It would also be very useful if we could view the missions already accepted from a contact while in the mission selection screen. While I'm sifting options it would be good to look again at the trip I've just accepted to see if there is any overlap.

Step-wise hide/show and known/not known is a really cool feature for the mission system.
I am glad we included it!

Step-wise hide/show and known/not known is a really cool feature for the mission system. I am glad we included it! ah, I see. Leg 2, 3 of the mission remains unknown. yep, have to agree. but still hope that the revealed steps can include planet and quadrant info. Once the mission is accepted, we do have visual via the map, but when being offered missions, it's a lot of work to figure out where XX planet is located; the quadrant info would really help. I do like bobc idea of access to existing mission info when selecting new ones, but have a feeling that might be out of scope. I am enjoying the variety of missions, and that certain ones require skills that captains may/may not have (like negotiating skills or explorer skills)

We'll definitely keep trying to improve those screens.

Having elements of the location hidden/unknown to the player makes good sense from a story perspective.
Having some missions provide specific location while other missions omit that info confuses many players. They wonder if it is a bug. This could be addressed by explicitly stating certain mission elements are unknown.
Go to an unknown planet in AB quadrant and ...

You could state that the destination is classified until the mission is accepted. Or for security reasons cannot be revealed until the previous step(s) have been completed.

Still, right now we are often getting the planet, or the settlement but not getting the quadrant, while from a security point of view, telling you the quadrant but not the planet (until you have accepted the mission) makes more sense.

The last few suggestions seem really solid to me, especially in terms of making the game fun for new players.
But, UI enhancements will be addressed in a later phase.
It'd be nice to have a place to park this sort of UI related suggestion for consideration during a later phase of development.

Thanks for all the feedback, we already have #3450 on our list for a few weeks to provide this info in mission steps.
