1.) Maximum Category number: I think the maximum number for any category is 10? But the Economy listed as 11 has a lackluster "Above Average" rating? That leaves me wondering if the maximum number you can have varies by category. 2.) Comparing the Orbital Icons from left to right with the landing Icon number in the table. Did I get it right? Landing Display: Etnad Orbital Station House Thulun, this is what I see. Category | # | Rating | Icon | Economy | 11 | Above Average | 6 | Starport | 7 | Excellent | 2 | Military | 5 | Standing PDF | 3 | Government | 7 | Ever Present | 4 | Spice | 4 | Spice Den | 5 | Trade Law | 9 | Extreme | 1 | Population | 6 | Large City | 7 |

You got the labels right. But 10 is not the max.

You got the labels right. But 10 is not the max. Thanks! Any ideas on where I can find the maximums? Do you think I could create an experimental setup to force the values to display?

Not sure it is a good idea, as I am not sure that the TB have finalised that yet, and before too soon now they will just be able to dump the values into a wiki page -- so, wait at least to see what they say this evening (their morning) before going off to do some serious work on those lines.

You're right, I'm like a happy dog that gets a cookie, and keeps pushing for another one. I just had a wacky idea, what about this? If the maximum is 10 then a Devaltos planet maximum economy would be 14. ( Ok, Ok, Better swat me on the nose, I'm not getting another cookie until tomorrow morning. Haha). Devaltos | +4 Economy | +2 Starport | Cadar | +4 Military | +2 Starport | Rychart | +4 Government | +4 Spice | Thulun | +3 Economy | +3 Starport | Javat | +4 Economy | +2 Starport | Steel Song | +4 Military | +4 Spice | Moklumnue | +1 Government | +5 Economy | Alta Mesa | +2 Economy | +4 Starport | Zenrin | +1 All |

Edit resistor thanks for correcting the Steel Song Error

You may be right. I just don't know the answer. There may be events that can temporarity boost a planet's rating -- those 'Spice Fairs' that I get rumours about sound like they might jack a settlement's spice rating up to the sky, for the duration of the rumour, at least.

bobc You have a memory that makes an elephant envious. Thanks for the link. Definitely going into my notes! 1 & 2) Atmo, Size, Danger all drive secondary effects about the type of world that will occur, what ratings it may have, etc. They are some of the primary seeds used by the proc gen. For example, larger planets are more likely to have larger populations. However, more Dangerous planets are negatively effected across all stats, and may turn Indie. 3) That indicates the zone is capable of refueling you. 4) This is fixed for next. If it is urban, it will show the planet's danger rating. If it is a wild zone, it has its own danger rating. 5) Everything is on a scale from 1-10 except Econ, Danger, Richness.

Steel Song one is incorrect. They get a +Military bonus, not +Economy.

Speaking of which, why are the Orbital Display and Landing Display not in the same order??P.S. It's times like these when I really appreciate having people like John Robinson around. Sometimes certain things really bug me, but for some reason it never occurs to me to report it as an issue.

Unfinished UI data thrown on screen for testing. Please ignore data until properly labeled and organized. If anyone has attended a twitch.tv session, (I think you can still view them on Youtube?). Sometimes you can see Cory Trese changing code in real time, to fix a problem as it pops up during screen demonstrations, without losing a beat answering questions. A humbling thing to witness. What an awesome feedback loop we are getting in the Alpha. The UI has already advanced a light year since I saw it for the first time in the P meetings. Right now we get to influence the direction, and ride the wave crest of a creative tsunami. Grab your boards, surfs up!

At the very least, see settlement stats for those that we have visited before.
