After selling my 60 power generators... ... I exited the game to give myself a break and sleep some 8ish hours. I just reloaded the game and all that money, plus a bit more, is gone... All I did was get up into orbit, exit the game, reload the game, land right back down (I wanted to buy some very expensive ship upgrades with my extra money). Edit: Had to do a 6 jump mission to try and get back on my feet. Since I had no money, 5 of those were emergency jumps. Had a mutiny half way through which killed 11 of my crew, and once I landed back on the planet to return the prisoner, the rest of my crew jumped ship. This just got interesting.

Very hard to explain. The saved game commits immediately after making a trade.
Anything else of mention? You forced closed the app? Have a task killer running?

I've had similar cases happen, although mine were crashes. Never could figure out a pattern in my case.

Ok, please report any additional details that you can. When the saved game is updated, all fields (cargo, money) are updated in a single transaction. If one part were to fail, all parts are reverted. This is fundamental part of all of our games back to Heroes of Steel and if we were having issues with that core concept, we'd know about it for years now. ChocoCrowbar - was there a crash after you sold the cargo?

We will continue to test and prove out, but this one seems pretty impossible to explain as a software bug - Task Killer - Dev Options - SD Card Fail - SD Card Perms - App Killer - Anti-Virus - File System Errors - Bad Install Certs - Bad Install File Locks That's all I can think of in terms of device problems off hand.

The only weird thing that happened was that I sold 1 cargo, pressed the Exchange button, and demand dropped to F. Took a trip to another quadrant, came back, and sold the rest. That's when I exited the game by going back to the map and exiting, then closing the app.

Well, the bad news is that if there is a bug in the saved game format, it cannot be fixed.
The good news is that the same bug exists in Heroes of Steel, ST 4X, Battleforce and ST2.
We've survived until now with this massive and unfixable bug, and I suppose we will continue to survive.
Sorry there isn't anything we can do here, but if the game cannot save it cannot save.

I definitely do appreciate the bug reports and the posts. There just isn't anything we can do.

That's alright. You can't fix something that can't be hunted down. Will keep trying to spot patterns, but it is very rare, so might just be my device being weird (this isn't the only thing that "randomly" crashes).

I definitely do appreciate the bug reports and the posts. There just isn't anything we can do. I think I found a way to reproduce it. I usually play while I'm at work, so most of the time the game is the first thing that appears when I unsuspend the phone. Very quick 3 min gaming sessions. Sometimes though, I minimize it and it stays in the background, and I go do something else while the game stays there. Most of the time, when I un-minimize the game, it's right where I left it (awesome feature by the way) There are very few times when I un-minimize the game that it start back up from the main screen. Though I've never had any problems since I try to leave my ship in orbit so I don't have to land next time I play, although once in a while I have to minimize it while on a planet, maybe after I sell my cargo. Just a moment ago was one of these planet minimizing to go do something else on the phone. Lo and behold, when I start the game it opens up from scratch, and when I get into the game I'm in space, minus the money I got from selling the cargo and any fuel I had bought. Crew are paid though. So it might have to do with the game not saving after transactions and then the phone clearing up some memory, or something. I don't speak android.
