The wiki page: startraders.gamepedia.com/Dice_Mechanics is vague on how to get more strong dice, and it doesn't mention anything about maximum number of dice. So, for instance -- So, in the above case I have strong 25 + standard 12 vs strong 7 + standard 12. My charisma is 24 - 26 at char creation -2 for being a Fearsome Zealot. But I seem to be getting 'standard 12' no matter what my charisma is. My extra charismatic 28 Merchant captains get it too. My Negotiate is listed on the status screen as 19 [+6] which seems to be where the 25 is coming from. But this is puzzling. I have 0 points of Negotiate in my captain. I have 4 officers. 3 of them have 0 points in Negotiation, as well. Don't know a thing about it. All of the negotiation is being done by one officer with 7 [13] Negotiate right now. She is a top-notch diplomat I hired, and then promoted to officer and trained in Merchant. But I don't understand how her stats get translated into 19 [+6] on the status screen. Here is the status screen and myself and all of the officers. One officer the game selected at startup, one is a pistoleer I made combat med due to his excellent skills, one is mr fortitude 33, discussed elsewhere who is also taking up the combat med profession, and the last is the negotiator.

Negotiate on the Status screen seems to have a flaw. Gravling has only one officer with Negotiate 7 (13), so his Status screen should show Negotiate 7 (+6), but it shows 19 (+6). A while back I reported, "My Level 6 Merchant (Level 4) Captain has Negotiate 5, no parenthetical. The officer pool Negotiate is 0 (+0)."-- startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/15271 --In both cases, the Status screen Negotiate main number is wrong, while the parenthetical is correct. For me, the Status screen spontaneously self-corrected shortly after I reported the error. grävling , try restarting your device and see if the problem persists. I'm not sure what's going on with Gravling's Charisma. In my limited experience, when Mission roll uses Strong Charisma dice, the number of dice is set to the Captain Charisma divided in half. But in this case it the Mission roll is using Standard Charisma dice.

I saved the game and restarted. Now my ship status shows Negotiate as 24 [+6]. ? ? ? Meanwhile my only negotiator now says that she is 9[15] Negotiate. She picked up 2 points more by studying Smuggling as her third profession.

I don't see any bugs here with the Negotiate score shown on the summary screen and the code seems fine after a once-over.
Perhaps someone could send in a saved game?
In mission saves, your Captain's Attribute is halved for the roll.

The only bug I see is text overlapping. We'll get that fixed.

I mean this all looks fine to me. I can run an analysis on the saved game if you email it in.

But you are agreed that it is _wrong_ that my negotiation save on the ship display is is 24[6] from an officer whose score is 9[15] ?? Okay. Given that this tablet is rooted, I ought to be able to mail you the file. Problem is -- where should I look for it?

grävling, do you have any non-Officer Diplomats on board? Yes, I do. 3 of them, actually, all with Neg 5 -- nothing in brackets.

So that's 15 Job points, + Officer and Officer Skills. I bet it adds up.

Right you are, 9+15 is 24. I didn't think that other negotiators added to the pool, just officers. Same deal for Merchant skills, Spy skills? What about Evasion?

All skills from Jobs are added up.
If you see it in Status it is pooled.
You're on the right track, but you get lost when you ask about Evasion.
Remember the other threads where we talked about individual vs. ship skills.
All of those rules still apply. The rules for Combat skills haven't changed.
Job skills are job skill -- that's the basic rule.
