Finally! It's taken forever to get a fighter bay. I replaced the cargo bay with mass to spare. I'm flying a Juror Class ship.I got into my first fight with a xeno and the fighters did not appear. Are fighters supposed to automatically deploy? Do they require a special talent to launch? Is anything supposed to appear on the ship's status screen that indicates you have a fighter bay installed?   |

I would imagine that a 'fighter pilot' officer is needed and as such this feature is not implemented yet

There was no "not implemented" message, or "cannot install" when I purchased it for $100,000. I played for a whole lot of sessions just trying to get one. How did I miss out on this tasty tidbit? Seriously I would really appreciate a thread pointer or something. (too bad I'm out the hundred grand) Thanks for letting me know it isn't there, I would have just kept on trying with other ship models.  |

Sorry all, Fighters are not implemented  We tried to get NOT IMPLEMENTED warnings everywhere, but definitely failed in some areas. |

Well, still valuable testing even though small craft combat wasn't on the phase 1 list. I know we talked about it, but getting 100K credits and freeing up the mass for the installation is very valuable testing. You'll get a decent rebate when you replace it with a Gravity Driver |

Very timely advice. I was just getting up the courage to start some serious ship to ship combat as soon as I build up enough cash to pay for Captain C.T. Dummy's disastrous combat decisions, and repairs. Definitely any testing is valuable testing. Just figuring out how to juggle the mass, and performing missions to raise the cash. My best team yet! Won't take long to build up my bank account again. "Put them on the view screen. Uh-oh!

Oh, so basically they have no additional functions other than soaks?
I had assumed from the name that Sig Dampener would lower ship signature (like Omni Stealth), and Deflector Array would boost shields somehow.
Will there be future/new components that provide these bonuses?
