I realize that to a degree, there's going to be pre-planned ideas of Captain jobs.... BUT... That being said. I'd really like to be able to choose the second 'job'. Often I'm trying spread out skills and talents/jobs through the ossifers... And far too many of the 'secondary' jobs for the captain, are what I'm going to have as duplicate of general crew or officers to begin with. The vast majority of 'secondary jobs' is defaulted as Pilot or Hyperwarp Navigator
Are we going to get more options for jobs down the line, or just a way to custom from scratch? I think (I'd have to double check) in the past, if I chose a Captain 'class' that started with a secondary job at level 0, I could actually choose any other job, not be stuck with the given one, but I just don't recall clearly now.
I could see a Smuggler/Explorer, Smuggler/Spy, Spy/Diplomat.... etc.. It seems in the long run, you can do more/better tweaking with Officers, than you can the captain him/herself

We're sticking with the design we've been working on at this point, but definitely appreciate the suggestion.
You can set profession priority lower if you want, and eliminate the second job from the Captain.

By eliminate the second job.. you mean make sure it starts level 0, so it doesn't auto-allocate? Basically what I've been doing up until I did a micro-ship for a starter as a new try.. I may have to go back to 'experience' being a D or E... Btw, what does Ship/money do if you say, choose A for ship/money, but a tiny low-cost ship? More starting funds, or?

At this time, its just a bad choice. The option is "Ship" not "Money"

Alex Fury I set experience as E, checked the 2 boxes for manual allocation and the extra captain level, and was in business with a captain whose second profession I got to choose. This went away for 2 releases but is now back.

That's basically what I was doing when I wanted larger ships. I guess I'll just have to keep Experience down at E.. At least a smaller ship means faster leveling, at least supposedly

If you take Experience as E, that does in no way determine your ship size. If you want a scout ship, fine you can order one even if you take ship as A ! (though I suggest you take ship as D, if you want a scout or a Juror).
