There are currently small and medium armor boosts, but nothing large. Can one be added? Or if it doesn't make game sense to have large armor panels, how about an improved shield generator that boosts Shield?

We didn't include Large size armor on purpose, that's part of the ship design balance.
We will work on adding hybrid large size components that offer some defensive capabilities in future releases.
Think about Bridges, Cargo Holds and Engines that add +Armor or +Shield.
