When allied ships stop you sometimes you get +Rep and +XP I like free stuff Being stopped by allied ships that I have a high rep with is happening too frequently. It snaps me out of the immersive feeling, and can get very fatiguing. It takes away from responding in a thoughtful way to a real interaction or threat. I start thinking "How fast can I click this so I can move onto the next jump gate?". I started playing at 7:00 a.m. yesterday, and I'm writing up this thread around 1:00 p.m. today. It took a few days but now I have my 3rd level(32) Captain in the bag with the best design yet. Jeez the number of times I had to respond to allied ships, Ouch. I'm an "Immortal Hero" in house Thulun. I'm thinking some kind of Rep Thermostat could be set before an ally pulls me over? Sir do you know why I pulled you over.. have you had any thing to drink after leaving Alpha quadrant..

Thanks for the feedback! We'll consider it. Working on an upgrade today that will ensure you don't get back-to-back ship encounters when moving around which should help.

Does this mean a reduced risk of having multiple hostile encounters that whittle away at your ships hull/components and crew morale before you have a chance to land and repair?

xdesperado - just that sometimes, you get a ship encounter, you might start moving again and get another immediately. There is no forced throttling at the moment, which is what I have added.

I wasn't bemoaning combat encounters, you take what comes. Depending on the size of your crew. You can run out of Evasive Maneuver talents rapidly while waiting for the 3 week cool downs. That's not all bad, it fosters some real planning. Thanks for adjusting the stuttering effect of back to back encounters, occurring in a few spaces from each other. While writing this I realized something important is missing. I have neglected to analyze the mechanisms of the Alpha tester. So simple yet so long in coming. An Alpha tester walks a wide path, and arrives at many crossroads. Which fork to take next leads to endless exploration, and allot of fun. The North fork: What I'm seeing at a given moment is a skeleton of events you are planning to hang more meat on later. The East fork: Is this a bug that needs reporting? The West fork: Is this a request that makes it more fun to play for me but silly for everybody else. The South fork: Retrace my steps and begin again. Retest. My understanding about how to play is often erroneous. If it's a new version reset my preconceptions. Testing ST2 is also testing myself. A fascinating new discovery. Pretty cool

Love the analogy; lost count of the number of times I've been stood at a junction, looking confused and scratching my head!

Thank you both for your dedication to the alpha -- you've been huge helps in improving the game. If you are standing at the cross-roads scratching your head, then new players will do the same or worse.
Always a chance for us to keep improving!
