This week, we've dedicated the release to catching up on feedback from the community. We've fixed a number of bugs that were reported -- issues with the Turret counts reported on the map, issues with Reactor Jolt providing too much +MP in some cases, and fixing some scrolling issues that were making the Talent table annoying to use in some cases. Also, we've rebalanced the starting SP cost of Scouts to 400. This has a lot of different effects -- it means that they will be a little more expensive to deploy from a Tact Point, but when it comes to Swap it means that they will be 1-for-1 with Soldiers and they carry a little more SP currency if you are planning to swap up to a Hydra, Neptune, Paladin or Berserk. It's a small change, but from the testing we've done here, it has a very positive effect on the Swap economy. Finally, we've added a line to your Templar's status that summarizes all of the Fire / Plasma / Radiation resistances that you gain from your Armor, Gear, and Buffs. Our Patreon raffle ran this morning and Jewel and Ozwryx won an invitation to join the ranks of the Templar Militant. Keep an eye out of their faces coming soon. Thanks to all of our supporters and especially to everyone leaving a review!v2.6.23 - 5/12/2017 - Increased SP cost of Scouts to 400 to match Soldiers - Added details on Fire / Radiation / Plasma Res to Templar status - Added unused MP to the Confirm End Turn message - Fixed messages about turret counts - Fixed scrolling issues in Talent tables On Steam for PC, Mac and LinuxTemplar BattleforceOn Google PlayTemplar BattleforceOn iTunesTemplar Battleforce

Does that make sense balance-wise? I think Soldiers, especially high level soldiers are inherently better than Scouts. I did my mostly scout playthrough and while I can see a squad of soldiers holding down an invading force, a squad of scouts just can't quite do enough, even with hobbling enemies.

I'm afraid there is no point playing scout now... The cost was basically point to field them... Ok You can still rush objectives but that's all... Soldiers are much better fighting force... I need to try first to give final judgment...

Don't be crazy . If you need a Scout on your BF, 50 SP is a drop in the bucket. If you switch them out like I do at the beginning of the round (unless I need them), then you have a noticeable uptick in your spending power to bring in your Paladin or another Engineer.

Considering that a completely Scout squad is very viable, yes, I am really happy with this change. Scouts are extremely powerful. If you haven't tried some high level ones, I would suggest it. Like most things in BF, they are best when paired with others to do the most killing, but also uniquely suited to be behind enemy lines, which no Soldier can manage. The change is primarily to assist with Swapping. This gives you more power in swapping. If you had 2 Scouts deployed, you can now swap them for 2 Soldiers, without needing the 100 extra SP.

I need to try first to give final judgment... That seems a little hyperbolic, but if it causes you to give up on Scouts completely, I understand. In the end, its the best thing for the game.

Three cheers! We are hearing that loud and clear across or comms.

Yes, if you're trying to run only scouts where possible it will be harder, but for team diversification it is overall an improvement imo. Plus scouts rushing objectives are one of the goto ways for improving speed bonuses and therefore extra rp/xp, so they are potent, just not for crowd control, that's not their role.
My 2c...

I did my attempt at an all scout playthrough but they kept dying. I have one at level 15 (max) right now, and 3 others at level 12 and I can't run a level with more than 2 or 3 scouts deployed. I also unlocked all the scout requisition tree and still just can't do enough damage (or hindrance), whereas a soldier can take out 3 enemies at once. Personally, I never had trouble with swapping. I must be doing something wrong because even with 6 or 7 stealth and the level 1 or 2 stealth talent, they always seem to get attacked. (And yes, in my attempt for as many scouts as possible run through I have been employing them with the intent/plan to rush levels.)
