Templar Hydra and Weapons Cabinet

The help file seems to indicate that you receive some sort of bonus if you have the Weapons Cabinet and the Templar Hydra. Does anyone know if this is true?  For a BH with Pilot and Warrior skill about equal to level, would it be more advantageous to have the Weapons Cabinet or some other upgrade such as Leviathan System? I would not actively seek out aliens but rather want a ship with upgrades that could survive the occasional alien attack. I would be using a ship such as the Resilient Cruiser or Slayernz.

"Damage Bonus stacks with Cargo Hold Weapon Bonus" must be the line in the help file you are thinking of. I think what it is saying is that the Hydra bonuses do not conflict with or replace bonuses from the Weapons the player carries. I do not think it is suggesting that the player gets special bonuses from the Hydra when they have Weapons or the Weapon Cabinet, although it is possible I am wrong.

As general rule, the Weapon Cabinet is useful if your cargo space is too low to normally carry sufficient Weapons for a boarding build, but if the player has a really good ship with sufficient cargo space for Weapons, it would be better to use a Combat Upgrade that gives bonus to boarding such as the Leviathan System.

Keep in mind the a Templar officer will improve the boarding bonuses of Combat Upgrades, but there is no boarding bonus the Templar can enhance in the Weapon Cabinet, as the WC only increases the amount of Weapons the player can store.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering if the Templar gave the Weapons Cabinet any special bonuses. That explains it. I will continue to use the Leviathon System upgrade on my ships that have sufficient cargo space for weapons then.
