For me the ultimate goal is to make enough money to build my own ship. Ive been working my way through the difficulty levels and Just made enough on impossible!

Wasp

Armor: 8
Engines: 45 with upgrade
Sails: 52 with upgrades
Crew: 61
Hold: 120
Guns: 30
Torps: 0
Speed: fast
Agility: quick
Advanced bridge upgrade also. Still looking for the Hyperion exo suit. Love to see everyone else's!

I don't really have a best ship, since all ships I have created served different purposes.
However, my most universal ship looks like this

Hull 18
Armor 13
Sails 36
Engines 40
Crew 50
Cargo 100
Weapons and torps depending on ship type.

The advantage is low fuel consumption and fairly huge cargo, but not too much
