Approve or Disapprove of Barnett Becoming Baron? (Spoilers)

So, yet another decision we have to make, after killing the former baron of Red Hill. It seems rather innocent, no? I approve, most of the time, for varying reasons. Red Hill currently needs a new leader, and Barnett isn't the worst person we could find. Barnett appears to be a great leader, according to his troops. We've demonstrated our power to him, thus probably suggesting he should listen to us. etc. etc.

Thoughts and/or arguments?

I approve. Giova is an able leader, which tops birthright by an infinite amount.

The problem with Giova is a lack of peaceful concern outside his group...

That sort of tribalism leads to repeated wars with outsiders when resentments run high, not all of which end up being good even for their own...

I don't hate him, but trade establishes more success in peacetime than his hardened warrior attitude.

It does make sense for him to helm security, perhaps as a knight, but ruling in peacetime doesn't seem his strong suit. No option for that as alternative, so better the devil you know..?

A war with Rivenfield may be better than a thousand petty tyrants fighting for the throne at Red Hill, yes... A peaceful resolution is outside the scope of the game, probably, but I still would like to say to the question: "Am I the man for the job?" -- "Time will tell..." or ... "It's not for me to say, but it is for them whom you'd lead..." or the like. This yes, no business is a trap of the destined war, not really a choice per se. Imo Lady Strom should be Baron and you her knight, Barnett... not that you'd listen to me anyhow with fortification and revenge on your mind...






I blame the budget office and the lack of alternatives. So totally expected from governments... :-p

ps I'm apparently a lonely rabbit in my choices...

I see Barnett as our best worst choice. As someone said; Better the devil you know. Well...ok. Barnett isn't horrible. But he isn't the best.
