Hi i have a new Samsung too and have tried the link and Helium app - no luck. Tried a bunch of forums and fixes. Still no luck.
Is there another way to transfer my save game?

Hi i have a new Samsung too and have tried the link and Helium app - no luck. Tried a bunch of forums and fixes. Still no luck. Is there another way to transfer my save game? If your device is rooted, there are lots of ways to do it. If your device is not rooted, the posted walkthru is the only way I know. What step is it failing? It is probably either your driver on your computer or the USB setting on your phone that is cause it to fail.

Non rooted. They're both work phones so not really an option.
I get the 'waiting for device' issue which seems to be common on helium. Most fixes for this involve using the helium chrome extension rather than the desktop but it hasn't work for me.
So no other options then? What about samsung cloud? I'm in episode 3 on my first game and just want to finish something ive been playing for months.

@roscop - the only other options would be to find another non-rooting option to move app files like Helium.
What USB setting do you have phone in? Are you able to see it like a folder on your computer?
What USB driver do you have installed on your computer?
Waiting for device means either device is set in the wrong mode or you don't have the USB drivers, imho.

Thanks Fallen. I have USB debugging on and the latest drivers are installed (they install when i attach) - yes i can see the folders.
If you google helium and waiting for device you'll see many threads on the same problem.
Also the link in your guide is dead ("quick walk through on this here").
I'll try Titanium Backup. Any other ideas appreciated.

Ok so after many hours i found this to work for me - hopefully it helps someone else:
1. Head to the dev. options, and check USB Debugging. 2. Revoke all authorizations. (Below the Debugging.) 3. Open Helium on PC and on Android. 4. Connect to PC. 5. Set USB Connection to PTP Mode. 6. Open an Adb Command Prompt. (Simple Adb stuff. Look it up if you don't know what this is!) 7. Type in: "adb devices" 8. Accept USB Debugging on phone. 9. That's it. When you accept the debugging request, Helium will automaticly recognize the decice and authorize it.
I have created backup.zip from old phone and gone 'restore' on my new phone - however when complete and i open HoS i don't see the saved game. So close... any thoughts?

@roscop - first, great work on debugging the connection issues. Great to see what is working.
Can you examine the backup.zip and see what is in it? I had issues with this process a number of times because I failed to select Heroes of Steel from the backup list, so wasn't really getting anything.
Make sure you're selecting the right app, and that the exact same app is installed on the new device (both free or both Elite).

Yea I see backup.zip is empty... I had free app then upgraded. It shouldn't matter what versoon New phone has when i create backup.zip.
Will look into it tonight

Ok back to it. So by keeping my screen on i have managed a successful backup.zip which is 66mb.
Now i do a restore of it onto new phone but when i open HoS i can't see any games to load...

@roscop - great to hear you got a ZIP file that has stuff in it. That is a sign of success.
When you are doing a restore, are you being sure to check the apps in the UI as well?
Are you sure you are installing the same app (Free and Free or Elite and Elite?)

Hi Fallen, yep i have free on both.
I am now highlighting HoS and clicking "Restore" (although i hadn't picked up on that before) - is that what you mean? you say "apps" are there more than one?
It says restore completed but when i open HoS on my phone no saved games under play.

@roscop - there are two apps on Google Play store -- "Heroes of Steel RPG Elite" and "Heroes of Steel RPG"
If you have backed up games from one of these apps, they will NOT restore to the other app. You have to be sure the same app is installed on the new device.
