Let the hate flow but Skip off the Void needs nerfed. The cost of repairs from using it is nothing compared to the risk of game over and high costs of trying to flee combat. It would be very cool if the Talent had some small chance of sending your ship to a random location across the galaxy. The void is unpredictable. That's a cool idea, but if it could send the player anywhere in the galaxy, then it could be abusable to intentionally get nearer to a far away Quadrant without needing to buy the necessary WF for jumps. Maybe SotV should send the player to a random place within the local Quadrant instead?

I think we have to clamp down on the completely random effects. Completely random and potentially game-ending effects.
We'll keep looking for ways to better balance this talent so it isn't OP. For the moment, the damage it causes to the drive has been increased a bit.

For the moment, the damage it causes to the drive has been increased a bit. Thinking more about it and I'm not really convinced that simply increasing engine damage is enough to balance this talent. Playing on hard difficulty and as long as I don't send my captain into crew combat he's become immortal. The use (abuse?) of this talent combined with bribes and other talents has allowed my captain to gain positive rep with all factions and trade permits, ranks edicts with most of them.

xdesperado - we'll keep working to improve! One option is that these simply need to work like all other Talents -- granting X% + Skill % of chance of escaping. We've been looking at Terrifying Extortion the same way -- to be able to get cargo from any merchant you encounter 100% of the time is crazy good.
