Because I'm always thinking up new fan fiction, I'd like some outside input as to what you think each Faction would handle in a massive joint military operation. Land and Air operations need jobs: think massive planet assault.
Rychart on Comms and Intel? Steel Song on shock troops and special forces? Zenrin on light infantry and artillery? Alta Mesa on close air support? Cadar on orbital drops and bombardment?
What do you think each faction would be most capable of handling, and why?
What 3-5 factions would you put together, or think would work best together?

I'll have to think about this one. You've done well with your suggestions to get is all started.

I'm also thinking about a massive Templar division to fight as well, which is why this thread is in the BF section, I just would like input as to how the Factions would work alongside them

I do see Steel Song as a ground forces specialist. Armored soldiers with powerful weapons.
Possibly think Kasrkin Soldiers from Warhammer.
It's why the Steel Song are Superior in boarding combat: The ships aren't the BEST out there, but the crew aren't to be underestimated.
So yeah, Shock Troopers, and Vanguards.
Even I want to admit... Cadar Air Support/Bombardment, mixed with Steel Song Ground forces... That planet doesn't stand a chance (unless it's Xeno. They're not invincible). Throw Templars in the mix?
...I actually got an idea for a story. Huh.
Steel Song and Cadar can make powerful allies. Too bad that make great enemies as well.

Plot outline/main thoughts right now includes --A Templar Inquisition force had been sent to one of the fringe systems that had dropped out of contact. The Templar Cruiser sent to investigate has since gone dark and the Alliance is in a nervous/terrified uproar. The citizenry is demanding action, and even the governments are pushing for unity. --Templar High Command convened a meeting of the Alliance and deemed it appropriate to send... --A massive task force made up of the most powerful aspects of each of 3-5 factions. I'm leaning heavily toward avoiding Javat/DV/Mokk, as they're more economically inclined, but Mokk or DV could provide a massively expensive and powerful Battleship or two to handle any major threats from orbit (enemy warships etc) --Cadar will supply the bulk of the orbital fleet, and will handle bombardments and armor drops should the situation warrant. --Steel Song will be the majority of the Ground Troops, Special Forces, and will handle area acquisition and defense, as well as securing lines of supply for the war effort. --Rychart(?) will handle coordinating the combined units and will provide tactical guidance and over watch from the powerful scouting/scanning ships at their disposal. --Alta Mesa(?) will handle special ground/air units. Close air support and bombing runs provide ground forces with unlimited destructive potential at their fingertips, and swift mechanized forces/gun platforms will allow Alta Mesa to be everywhere at once. --Zenrin could provide light infantry and artillery if I even want to include them in the fight. I just don't want too many moving parts to keep track of.... --And of course a major deployment of Templar Knights, thinking 50-75-125, depending on the scope of the battle. They would of course do their thing, and handle the heaviest fighting. I'm gonna get writing
