So yesterday, I made a custom template captain, started new game, it showed the animation with the quadrant name I'm in, and about 2 seconds later (before I even touched anything), I got a black screen. Five seconds later went back to desktop.
tried again tonight. Same template captain, load game. Loaded okay, animation played, no problem. I opened up Status, then Crew List, then had same black screen and CTD.
tried default explorer template, default settings, new game. Was okay. Open Status screen, waited two minutes, was okay. Opened Crew List, and about a minute later had the same problem.
i assume this is somehow specific to my iPad2?

smells like code incompatibility with some previous remnants of an earlier rev.... did you delete the previous version's app prior to installing 1.3.11? FWIW, my iPad Air2 had no issues.
I know the TB's are out of office, but if you can, you could use iTunes to get access to all the game files. Then copy then to your computer, zip all the files up and email them, they will be able to recreate your game to troubleshoot/fix.

Whoops, sounds like a rookie mistake. I'll have to check tomorrow and report back. Thanks for the hint, mint dragon!

Does sound like you didn't uninstall a previous version.
Please let us know if this gets sorted out!

Nope, just did a fresh install, and try again a minute ago. Still crashed right after opening the crew list as described above.

Can you describe any of the circumstances that lead to crash? I created multiple new games and multiple new maps and haven't been able to reproduce the crash. We have 0 reported crashes in the crew list for 1.3.11 and iOS, so we have nothing to go on.

Can you remind me how to do this? I have the iPad2 connected to Win7 Pro PC with a data cable. I can see the iPad in iTunes and can sync contacts/apps/music, but no access to the storage on the iPad2 on iTunes or Windows Explorer (other than photos), even though I've authorized access on the iPad2. Both iPad2 and iTunes are using the latest update.

You use the "Application Files" panel in iTunes to access the files.

Took a while of blind clicking in the iTunes interface (and not sure I'll be able to do it again ) but I finally found the right area. So glad this feature exists now. Just sent to Cory. Hope this helps.

Okay, fresh install of 1.3.14 and it's still occurring. Just sent another file to Cory. Same deal as before. Also tested the below on default explorer, default map, default diff. Checked/Unchecked manually assign talents doesn't make a difference. Music/Sound on/off doesn't make a difference. Crash will occur at following screens if I stay on the screen for typically 2-5 seconds. The longest wait before a crash was 14 seconds. Screen

athios - alright, we've got a lead on this. Your iPad is running out of memory, unfortunately. This causes a hard crash. This is explained by areas on the Crew Manifest (etc) because of all the crew graphics being loaded. Memory management is always something we address toward the end of the cycle, around the principle of "make it work, then optimize it." We'll do some work to improve the situation around Crew Manifest, and hopefully that will resolve your devices memory management issues. Until we are able to get that worked out, I expect your device will be very temperamental and crashy.

Okay, that's fine, no worries. Is this device intended to be supported in the final product, or it's considered a legacy device?
