Not sure when it started appearing in the game, but for contacts that DO buy intel, selling said intel bumps your rep with them quite nicely. There are talents that can collect intel by just landing on planets, and when focusing on getting those talents, you can meet a new contact and instantly bump up your effective rep quickly by selling intel to them.
It's my current strategy to become friendly with a new faction I'm trying to get close to.
(Disclosure: this may not be news to many of you, but it sure was for me! And really helped influence my talent/ship upgrade choices for a way to max intel collection and become an instant 'friend' to contacts of my choosing)

I’m really digging the Zealot’s Rough Interrogation talent. Easier to get Intel Records than spying, and it works on Xeno ships too! Plus the Xeno hate me anyway, so I’m not bothered with a rep hit from them 😛

Plus the Xeno hate me anyway, so I’m not bothered with a rep hit from them 😛 I can see code that prevents Rough Interrogation from appearing against a xeno. Were you able to do this against the Javat Xeno? Bugger. Took #STF-3685 for this bug. |

Were you able to do this against the Javat Xeno? Bugger. Took #STF-3685 for this bug. I ran from the Javat Xeno, it was early game and couldn't risk it. I think I figured out the Rough Interrogation. After defeating a Xeno, you are correct, the button does not appear, but when I press Battle Damage Repair, this is what happens:  So the Battle Damage button triggers the Rough Interrogation code, the first time. Battle Damage works correctly after that.  I was going to file a bug that Rough Interrogation doesn't work correctly with Xeno, but came across this thread first. Sad that I can't do it down the road.  |

MintDragon, just think though, you are probably the only captain how has ever strapped a xeno into a chair and pounded them with your bare fists until they spilled their guts, and who ever will.
