Gear

I haven't looked much into Gear, with any of my past characters. Creating a new character, I discovered that specialist gear (provided by my Fixer contact) and military gear (provided by my Intelligence Officer contact) are exactly the same. Why two different names for the same thing? If I'd known the two "different" types of Gear were really the same type of Gear, I wouldn't have chosen Intelligence Officer as a contact. (It doesn't matter to me; it was a test character; but if I was misled, other players will be.)

For those of you who've looked into Gear with advanced characters,
1. Do specialist gear and military gear differ at some point?
2. What's the best pieces of Gear you've come across?

Yeah, I'm very disappointed in the Gear selection. Why can't I select Amazon as my contact, uh? Oooh, and Amazon could provide me with delivery missions, too! And Facebook could provide spy missions, and ... OK, I'll stop there.
