Cool discoveries using the UI.
1.) Alarm bell: When you fail a test during flight there is a little "ding" sound. Great audio prompt to look down
for the red triangle message. When busy it's easy to miss these potentially very important failures.
2.) Hyperwarp display: If you hover the mouse over any portal in the quadrant. You get a display of
which faction controls the destination quadrant, Danger level of the quadrant, how much time and fuel it will take to get there.
3.) Rep: When you enter a quadrant in the upper left of the UI you see your current rep without having to look at
the Faction display in the Status screen. You already know which Faction controls the quadrant you are in
and just a glance from the map display shows your positive or negative rep with the faction owning the quadrant.
4.) Recruits & Faction Rep: For a long time faction rep didn't mean much to me. Well today that changed. I was able to
recruit a spy, exo-scout, purchase weapons, and upgrade my armor without having to run
missions for these contacts because my effective rep was high. Rychart just thinks I'm the cat's meow.
5.) Hotkeys: You can hover over any button and see the equivalent keyboard letter to hit vs using the mouse click.
My playtime has become super quick. Left hand on keyboard, right hand on mouse..
The ESC key is your best friend.
The "A" for Atlas, once you use this you'll never go back to left click. Hitting the A key displays the Quadrant
atlas, by simply scrolling you see all the icons of each planet indicating starports, contacts, and mission targets.
I have the filter set to "Local" and "Faction order". It stays that way unless you change it.
When entering quadrant.
1. Hit Atlas see if I missed any Rychart planets. ==> 2. Hit C contacts show up.==> 3. hit X missions show up.
Done? Hit ESC return to map.
ESC No matter what screen you are in, you can go backwards every time you hit it. All the way to the main menu if you want too.
6.) Navigation using Space bar: Wow what a time saver! Go to hyper port hit enter, hit it again to shorten cut scene.
Interrupted on your way to destination? After ship encounter etc. Hit space bar and you continue on to your destination.
I'll be adding more cool discoveries and hope you will too.
