I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this thread but I want to PRAISE the team that put this game together. I have been playing turned-based RPG's since the 1980s and this has to be on the top of the list and I have played almost all of them. I am using the original 4 and they work very well together as a team. I am into the game for 180 hours and just finished the Tower of Loss. Have I died? - YES - 14 times but none lately. I have learned to use guerrilla-like tactics - hit and back up, then hit again. I'm not playing for a super high score but for the great storyline and the enjoyment of a true turned-based RPG. I'm way to old for the finger twitching action RPGs. Again a huge thank you from this "ole" gamer!!

cmrenberg welcome to the forum - I completely agree that for turn based games, the Trese Brothers have all but perfected the format. The clever balance between story, character design and balance, depth of customization, and complexity, wrapped around a cleverly crafted UI that just works makes for compelling playing. If you like BF - you'll also like Heroes of Steel, not to mention their earlier games too. Your tactics of hit and backing up is definitely viable as is full out assault, and inch-by-inch defensiveness. The ability to customize character design and loadout, along with research tree options allow you to really optimize for your particular playing style. I'm really glad that you aren't assuming the game should be a cakewalk and that deaths are a really bad thing

I love turn-based RPGs and Heroes is perhaps my favorite storyline I've written into a game yet We only hope you will tell a friend, leave a review, and try our others games

Just starting episode 4, I believe - got to the Braeys War camp. Was careless and Kjartan got killed by the Necro. at the very end of the long battle. I'm now have posted over 205 hours and it appears I have many more to go. Respec Kyera because she wasn't doing much and maxed her ban. which really made a difference in battling the undead. I don't use her to heal - use potions instead since I have so many. Tamlin with bow and Thr maxed and the Heart of Summer is my main destroyer. WHAT A GAME!! I now need to go back and finish some of the epi 3 quests. If the Trese's other games are as absorbing as this I can hardly wait to finish HOS and start one of them. Thanks again!

cmrenberg - absolutely try Templar Battleforce and Star Traders: Frontiers! Great to hear you've gotten so many hours of fun out of Heroes. A late-game respec like that can be really amazing turn!

Whew - Just finished defeating the Weaver!! What battles!! Used a lot of potions and made it thru all of Darkmoss Underheart without dying. My companions - VKKT - are now lvl 50. Still got a ways to go. Haven't faced Goddess Tav yet - not sure which direction I'm going to take. Into the game for 230+ hours now. By the way what is the "Needle" used for? Did I miss something?

cmrenberg - the needle is used for something special in the Darkmoss, near the point where you get dropped off by the boat. 230+ hours is awesome! Glad you're getting your money's worth

I'm with the OP. This game rocks!!! I've been away from it for about a year letting you guys further the story but, even though it's not quite done, I can't stay away any longer. Back for another run with the original 4. I just can't get enough of Tamilin rocking her Torrent of Steel with my Ash Wizard. I left off last year just before crafting was implemented so I'm really looking forward to seeing how that works. Keep up the great work!!!
