It would be great if one or both of these things were implemented:
1.) Allow Dry Dock transfers... its a pain to have ships Dry Docked on different planets, especially considering they can never be moved. Allow the player to pay a fee (distance based?) to dock the ship at another planet.
2.) Show planets with the characters ships marked on both maps.. or atleast the zoom map. This will make it easy in case we forget what planets have ships docked..

1.) OK. but if we do use a fee / service then I cannot allow transfers of inappropriate ships. have to work on this! for example, you wouldn't want a ship transfer to be allowed to a closed starport or between factions in solar war.
2.) This is a good "missing information" issue.
The same is true of the locations of caches.
Personally, I really enjoy memory games.
I love memorizing numbers and spatial information.
I often overlook the fact that this is not a fun part of the game for most people.
To that end I am going to improve the ZoomMap to include a bunch of additional informations.

1.) You could neglect that issue - for example, if the star dock ends up being closed, the captain will be forced to wait (so its up to him to make sure his location is clear!)
Same deal with warring factions.. you could even make the fee dependent on the rep and relationship in this scenario (sending a ship to an opposing faction might be double the price!)
Whatever is the most simple or elegant to implement for you - or you could have the list of planets show up and grey out inappropriate ones..
I agree on #2, it adds personality to the game to force the user to remember a planet name and even helps give it more imagination to the player. It would be nice to have options in the Zoom Map of what shows up or not, allowing players to decide (for example, one of my Captains may prefer to dock all his ships in one spot, easy to remember but another might be a collector and purchase ships everywhere frequently, making it difficult to remember.) Marker options for the Zoom Map would be a neat idea.
Also, bug to report: I am getting double toasts (a green one then a red one) for conflicts or alliances while traveling. I dont know if this is because my current captain is on good terms with every house and syndicate, but it is slightly annoying since long travels stack up toasts quickly and its confusing especially since they are not in the same spot on the screen.

I moved the calls to the PoliticalSphereUpdate() around -- which is what identifies the next step-evolution of the conflict network. As a side effect, I moved the Toasting system as well.
Sounds like I didn't move enough of it.
Bug logged. Fixing ASAP.
