It is well documented that weapons provide a bonus to the blockade action.
Do weapons provide a boarding advantage? This is seemingly undocumented (5.4.3 amazon)

Press "Help" (from main menu or in game menu) and select "Combat Details" from the list of help topics.

Weapons give 3 warrior per weapon. I thought that the bonus only applies per extra crew available for boarding 3 * (crew - engines - guns) × weapons. |

I've stumbled upon a forum thread that contained a piece of decompiled code. I will not be linking it here, since it's a piece of decompiled code, but if the bonus had been merely extra crew, a first Narvidian hive that is 3x your level would have defeated you with ease (maybe not so much now that it only has 500 crew, but there were times where it had 1000 crew... And having a well rolled Narvidian hive as a foe was a fun fight  |
