Remove the ability to level these talents on the stealth characters. I think this would benefit new players. For warding words allow only 1 pt to be spent to purchase it, but after that make it un levelable.
I was thinking about the lockpick/trap disarm talents and associated skills, and understand the plan not to change them at this point. However, there could be a way to tweak them without breaking the game.
A lot of the focus is on Spirit Point management. Higher lock and trap levels could require more Spirit Points to unlock or disarm, respectively. Thus, level 1 in these talents/skills would be sufficient to unlock any lock or disarm any trap in the game--but higher level locks and traps would burn through precious Spirit Points. If a hero invests in the talents and/or raises the associated skill, the cost in Spirit Points would be lower (perhaps even 0 Spirit Points for sufficiently high abilities used versus low level locks and traps).
To keep things easy, the lock and trap levels could be gradually increased throughout the episodes, so players would be able to decide when it's needed (if ever). The Spirit Point cost could be an equation, like Cost = Lock/Trap Level - Skill Level x 2. Minimum cost could be 1 or 0. The talents boost the relevant skill level. Maximum Lock/Trap Level could be 60 or so, keeping them from being extraordinarily expensive so players don't need to Respec if they don't want to.
