Done! Damn! Stupid Talia! Nightmare run over. I knew I needed to upgrade my bow but there was nothing in Brunehorn and I didn't want to run all the way back to the Braeys forward seige camp to get one so I compromised and figured I'd clear Talia and at least take the boat to Riven Field. One of those big 8 armed spider guys got Selen. I needed to AP curse him once and I had two shots left with Selen to do it and she missed twice. Even Ashed, she couldn't hit him. Then, of course, he hit her twice for 340 and 366. She was fully juiced at 670. The End. This game.....

Sorry to hear it man. The end of episode 2 gets so hard because of the leveling curves. Cultists and Krete left to the end can be so wicked. You got further than I'll probably get though.

Retooling the group some small changes so far. Take consecrated defense at level 6 on fyona and immolation 1 at lvl 7 on kj

CdrPlatypus I salute your perseverance in starting over even without a death in your group. My group with Tam just rescued Valent. At level 19 it was a tough fight. Vraes had some rough turns tanking several armored Orcin a Warlord a Berserk and getting hit by Javalineers. I think he managed to stay above a quarter health, but it was scary. Meteoric would have made a huge difference, but I'm not planning on incorporating it in this team. Onward to kill some Krete. I'm following matrim's guide to max xp joining the Braeys side.

contributor thanks for the support. Meteoric shockwave could be nice. I'm thinking about punishing blades on Selen to take out those damn super armored orcin as well as to drop their incoming damage

Yeah, Tam spamming 1 ap throwing knives didn't cut it against the Orcin. I mean eventually it worked out, but instead of 3-4 dying every round, it was like one and then maybe Vraes and Fyona would take out one or two more. In time though we wore them all down. At this point though we're all starting to really need some gear upgrades and I'm not sure when we're going to get them. I seem to be getting crap for drops this game.

Current Major Changes for Version 2 of Heavy Metal.
After Choking Ash 5 KJ takes Immolation to 3 then goes back to choking ash. Start alternating Conjuring and Sorcery once taking the first level in immolation until conjuring hits 9 then pure investment into sorcery
Fyona 1pt in Concecrated Defense at lvl 6. Invest in Con until it hits 12 then start going for some strength Take shield of Cortais to 10 before starting on Fighteous Fervor
Vraes, Because I'm not taking pureflame for the moment I went back to alternating con and strength on him rather than rushing to 16 strength. Not seeing an major accuracy problems with him yet and picking up some extra toughness early is nice
Selen. I want to take a 2nd point in lsy look...but I havent Im really stretched for talent points on her. Trying to decide when to make a break for pinning shot 8 mainly to make the switch to 3ap bows less painful
So far HeavyMetal V2 has made it to rivenfield with no deaths. Total clear. No fights skipped / snuck past

I'm approaching the Hunting Lodge. I want to leave him around for later, but with this group I also really want that armor! Tough choices.

Finally got to Ember camp and got Vraes a shiny new spear. He went from E1 gear straight to E3 and his new minimum damage is now higher than his previous max. That's with doing minimal E2 stuff so far so he's going to use that for a good long time. I can't wait to see the exploding cultists. The only problem is that I didn't get crit on the crafting so I'm going to have to load him up with crit gear. At this point he may not even need it though. I'm a little disappointed with the armor in the Braeys camp. It's not as good as Granthorn. I'm tempted to go and do the crypts and see what awesome E3 gear I can find to bring back into E2.

Oh ho ho, a little foray into the Crypts was well rewarded. Everyone but Kj got craftable armor. Vraes is now sitting at 166 armor buffed with 1300 health. The Underforge is going to burn.

@contributor Don't you get to Granthorn following the max XP guide before the UF and all that? I thought I remembered min clearing Crag's Peak and then doing the Sea Road because it respawns.....maybe the armor there hasn't changed yet because of story progression...? Anyway, bold move going into the Crypts....

Heavy Metal Version 2 Just Hit level 25 Working their way through the underforge.
New Talent Spread at Level 25
Vraes: Stone Skin 10, Natural Mastery 1, Burst of Speed 3, Juggernaut 4
Kajartan Choking Ash 10, Immolation 8 (biggest change here deciding to forgo pureflame sheild until much later. It is so much fun packing the extra fire power and this group is cutting through large battles so much faster)
Fyona SoC 10 CD 1, RF 5, Reckoning 1
Selen Dance of Shadows 7, Sly Look 2, QSD 1, Pinning Shot 8 (Another big change was taking pinning shot to 8 sooner and not leveling QSD past lvl 1 yet. Her primary goal is to lay down pinning shot and I wanted to be able to get her switched over to 3AP bows. TO do that I decided I needed To have Sly Look at lvl 2 (4 is awesome, but 2 is the best return on investment talent point wise), atleast +3mp I;m contemplating finishing out dance of shadows, I'm not entirely sure yet, and pinning shot 8. This all is to compensate for only being able to get 2 volleys instead of 3 per turn. The reason to swithch to 3ap bows is higher base damage and accuracy

It also depends on if you mainly want to deal damage with PS or if you want to curse as many enemies as possible. Also, Range 7 can be really helpful.

I'm very happy with the changes to selen and going with 3ap heavy bows and pinning shot 8 Not only is accuracy much less of a problem, when she crits it is beast like. I have to be more careful with my positioning to make sure I can take advantage of the lager hit box of pinning shot 8 to compensate for one less cast per turn, but I like that as well; makes the game feel more tactical
