I would like to ask you (Trese Brothers) what kind of things do you need to know. Do you have some academic education or are you just self-educated masters? Im asking becouse i prematurely quit IT school this year and im going to do my degree in school of different kind. But it is my dream to at least try this path of developing a game. I got some ideas but i only learn basics of Java and C and got some experience from Warcraft 3 editor 😂 and vector and raster graphics editors.

havnor - Cory Trese and I often talk about how this would be an incredibly hard job to do solo. In fact, we both agree we would not be able to do it, even with partners helping us. In no particular order, we share the following hats: - Community Engagement - Customer Service - Marketing - Video Editing - Music and SFX mixing - Art Production - 2D Animation - Level Design - Story writing - Code writing - Build automation - Game Design - Legal, Accounting, etc Cory is more self-taught than I am, but we both learned most of engineering skills by ourselves or through our work experience. All the game design is from years of doing it together through our youth and into adulthood. I don't have straight answer for you (obviously ^^) but to do it alone, you need to know a lot. We always, always give the advice to make something small and share your project early. Building a masterpiece alone in a dark room can be a very challenging task because you may abandon it before it ever sees the light of day or when you roll it out you may find the idea did not live up to execution. Always, start with a fun game loop.

Thanks for this answer i know some people which would join in if i start it and show them some work is done so probably that would be enough. Anyways some libraries or editors should be helpful but i fear it would look bad.
It is nice to hear you are self-educated in some way it gives me hope i could do it myself too maybe. I was always fan of moding and games and you guys give me the opinion somethnig profesional and entertaig can be done even with smaller numbers (im not big fan of indie but you are few which i find on the same level than any other good studio).
I would like to ask one more question. Do you think this game-developing know-how is all on internet or i have not access to key informations becouse its not usually shared?

havnor - I think what you need is on the internet. Like most digital professions, game developers do a lot of q/a on the internet and post a lot of tutorials and examples of their work. Definitely start with a game engine!

Thanks again, anyway do you know some forum where i could get some feedback on ideas, plot, desing etc. Quora, Reddit and StackOverflow all the sections dedicated to these types of questions about writing, design and plot. Just make sure you find the right sub-forum or sub-site to post on for maximum quality responses. Good luck!

That website, and really any stack exchange website, has a strict set of rules for posting questions. Be sure to carefully read the help center before asking there.
