xp for combat

I was wondering about how much xp is awarded for combat (can't be bothered sitting with pen and paper and working this out).

Is more xp awarded for beating an enemy ship than for running away? What about looting/destroying the ship? What about getting in a few hits then running for it? Anyone got any figures on this?

Awesome. The best way to rack up XP in combat is to find reasons to fight -- Solar Wars + Blockade is a great way to see this in action.
