So i only just found out that the stealth dodge rating on stealth armors is only applied if the crewmate's stealth skill is less than the armor's dodge.
ie: If Crewmate's stealth skill = 9 and armor's stealth dodge bonus = 11, then dodge = 9 (9 strong dice).
If crewmate's stealth = 13 with the same armor, then dodge dice = 13
This would mean that once your crewmate's stealth is higher than the armor, then the armor actually decreases dodge.
While this makes real world sense, it also means that if you want your space ninja to have the best possible dodge in combat, you should just send them in naked.
Not sure why, but this bugs me a little. Maybe there could be an advanced stealth armor that offered only the minimum protection, but also didn't replace your high level assassin's natural steakth dodge?

I think you have this slightly wrong in your wording but your conclusion is correct. I suspect it is like camouflage that is better than being naked but is only useful up to the point that you know how to use it.

brentaur to correct your example ... Armor Stealth Dodge Bonus 11, Stealth Skill 9 = Dodge 9 (strong dice) Armor Stealth Dodge Bonus 11, Stealth Skill 13 = Dodge 11 (strong dice) Armor Stealth Dodge Bonus 11, Stealth Skill 11 = Dodge 11 (strong dice) I am not sure about the naked thing. That doesn't make any sense because, Armor Stealth Dodge Bonus 0, Stealth Skill 13 = Dodge 0 (strong dice)

Brentaur might have been thinking back to the days of 3rd edition D&D or Knights of the Old Republic and friends where there was a maximum benefit from your Dexterity score. If you were more agile than this, the armor could actually be counter-productive.

Ok, hopefully my example clears it up. You do not get the benefit of your Stealth Skill without the Stealth Armor.

Ok, hopefully my example clears it up. You do not get the benefit of your Stealth Skill without the Stealth Armor. The Wiki says you get half of Stealth or Tactics as standard dice for ranged defense

My apologies. In the strong dice slot you get no Stealth bonus if you don't have stealth armor.
in the standard dice slot you get Evasion/2 or Stealth/2, whichever is higher.

So for stealth armor 10, with stealth skill 12; you would get 10 strong dice and 6 standard dice?

Thank you! Makes more sense now. I was understanding it correctly, but i put int the wrong number for my 2nd example. What i was missing was the 0 value for no armor. I can't decide how i feel about dodge bonus being 0 until you put stealth armor on. Is stealth armor powered or extra camouflagey or something?

Well, it isn't a question of putting on stealth armor or being naked. You are either wearing Light Armor, Heavy Armor or Stealth Armor. If you are wearing Heavy or Light Armor, its bulk prevents you from gaining any Strong Dice from Stealth. You always gain some Standard Dice from your Stealth.

I think he means thematically.

This seems like a question for the STF philosophers. Is a stealth crew member stealthy without stealth armor? And since naked isn't an option they can keep discussing it forever.
Well..., I think I'm heading over to the RFE board to request combat nudity in STF now... Thanks.

I hear this was deeply considered in the alpha but due to game ratings systems, especially on iOS, it had to be removed as a feature.
