Player receives this award "for surviving wounds that would kill any mortal." So how wounded are we talking about? I'm at 5/10 and don't want to risk ending my game (level 15 with just Vae Vitus).

Something tells me this'd be one of those awards you make a new captain you won't miss too much to pursue

I guess that is one way, I have only gotten it on accident thus far.
It stands out right now but when there are 120 awards instead of 25 it won't be such an obvious issue.

So do you need to heal those wounds to get the award or just receive them?
Also, are all wounds equal? Can you get this by banging yourself up exploring a planet or must you receive them in ship to ship combat?

Healing from being almost dead due to exploration wounds did it for me...

If you're sitting at 1 or 2 health, regardless of how the injuries were required, you should get the award. I remember when I got it a few weeks ago, I was sitting at 1 health, healed 9, got award after I claimed it from palace.

The result is that the Doctor regenerates faster, sometimes immediately.
There is a humorous toast, ect.

Does the wound message keep track of what kind of wounds you get? I should have written it down, but when going for this award, I think I lost more than two ears...

that is one thing I do NOT track. The Captain gets a new vat-grown ear installed by the Doc. =)

Yeah, once the doc puts me together, I understand losing that donor ear. When I was going for the award and had 9 consecutive injuries without a doc visit, I'm pretty sure that old Cap'n No Ears lost another ear. Perhaps he'd stuck one of his lost ears in a pocket?

lol its more like a mutation from artifact radiation. You had another ear growing on your spleen... luckily you didn't need the spleen for anything...

I guess that's why the entertainers steal away my crew, but never my captain.

LOL the way these Captains roll it sounds like they'd the be the ones stealing the entertainers.
