I'm puzzled. The section says wish lists, yet many stated wishes are attacked by others.
I've read some plain stupid wishes listed by regulars that were not mocked. Yet when we come and ask why this game chooses to operate differently we are ridiculed.
Either it is a sincere section for users to post their wishes or you should just delete it.
Is this just a hobby or is it intended to make the creators money? Because if it's about hopeful capitalizing financially to the fullest extent possible, it would be wise to take seriously growing numbers of the same complaints.
The worst thing that could happen is for some designer to come here as a player, see his and other similar players concerns ignored, sits down and create a similar game with those concerns addressed, and becomes a breakout selling app. When all that revenue was here begging to be taken. But making the customers happy wasn't a top priority.
Keep your ideology, your ships of honor reserved for certain levels since apparently there is only honor playing those levels. However don't be surprised if a developer takes your customers' wants seriously enough to create a new app to please the majority instead of pleasing a few who consider this more than a GAME that is meant to be fun. Not a requirement to become a cult like follower of a storyline most care less about. We just want to play.

Hi ab ^_^ I tell u a thing, before going on topic and answering u(with my opinion): I Honestly hope to have well understood ur thread,'cause i've difficulties,in english =) Ok,the thread I think that this section is not a place to request features to Developers(T.B.,in this case),but simply a section where all the community tells own wishes(attention, not pretending to have them added in the future),discussing each other on the chance to implementing those features in ST...And believe me,i'm not a hardcore player, neither a Nerd Player, and ST is for me a funny game, well done, but i'm not the Guru of,and i'll never be =) It's charming, sure =) said this,we are many people, there are some older users that use a kind way to give the welcome to new users, others not...=) World is good 'cause it's full of several people...=) I repeat,i hope that i understood your thinkings in this thread, and also i hope my opinion is clear(i'm not sure of this,my english sucks XD) Anyway, make some specific example bout what u said,so we and TB can resolve the problem(If there's ^_^)

The purpose of the board is to collect player's wish lists, discuss them and possibly turn them into features.
Hundreds of changes to the ST game have come out of wish lists and in general, forum discussions.
It is a sincere section for users to post ideas and suggestions.

Well we shouldn't be mocked by regulars for posting them. Debate is valid, mockery is immature.

We? You are a plural? Why do you feel mocked? No one is mocking you. Why do you percieve an attack? No one is attacking you. What is the definition of a "regular"? Are you familar with the concept of psychological projection? From wikipedia: "Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projectionDebate is enlightening, projection is pointless.

I think that I know what is this board NOT for:
Repeatedly posting the same idea, over and over in various threads. Even if this idea has been commented by the game designer as not doable, breaking game design, not possible, requesting major redesign etc. many times. Even if the idea has been acknowledged by him and the community as "good for new games such as Star Traders 2".
People tried to help you like the design as is, because there is probably no way how to change it that late in the game development.

When it is a 'wish list' it means it. There are a lot of things that are impossible for the engine, or they would conflict with the games design or unbalance it. If a kid asks santa for a 9000000$ supercharged airplane, its pretty much impossible that it would get throught. (a bit overreacting here ) and i thiink that you are making these compliments from your own experiences, so i would say that you were a bit attacking too in the 'unlock awards' thread.. And like its already said in that tread, cory (and some others)dont do any of the hate towards some idea personally to someone, but the wish itself.. (eh, That sounds attack-y too brobably) If all wishes did go atraight to the game, ST wpuld be a huge mess by now. And it may seem useless to a have some shortcut in the game for you, but for someone who does one thing a lot, it may be really really helpful. Also i dont think its possible to have a developer very much better than cory in caring for the customers (i havent seen ANY other who gives up to 24 hours of refund time, or try to help someone who somehow thinks the game broke his phone, when it was actually caused by him dropping it from 9 feet.) If you try to get support from a big game company, if the problem isnt happening to many people, it is usually ignored completely.

Well we shouldn't be mocked by regulars for posting them. Debate is valid, mockery is immature. True that. Could you point out those posters (and quote their posts here) who've been mocking you so that I could smite them rightly? In the loins, hopefully? Cyberbullying is totally dumb in my books.

Referring to needing a WAAabulance is mockery isn't it. "We" refers to the posters that come hear to post and criticized for believing we should have choice of how or what level to play without being penalized. Cory himself has posted how many threads that have been started regarding that and the permadeath issue. I've seen even "regulars" state they preferred an option to turn off permadeath and others saying during their longer observations it appears to be a 50/50 split regarding it. That means we is a lot more than me. I have by far enough post grad psychology credits that I don't need a ten cents lesson. Now you should check into mob theory. And until you read each and every reply to my posts don't make judgement about whether I have been attacked here. It doesn't matter that the person venting is the game's creator.

Mob theory? By identifying yourself with what you perceive as a majority, by refering to your self as "we" arent you using mob theory in an attempt to gain credibility?
Everyone else I see here takes personal responsibility for their opinions.
I have read each and every reply to your posts. In the instance you are refering to, it appears to me that Cory was merely using humorous metaphor to illustrate a point. You are the one who jumped down his throat for "attacking" you.

Different ideas are fine. Having immature, word twisting clowns is not. Maybe he needs to take a ride in his WAaabulance to get out of mommy's basement eating Cheetos in his underwear.
I have said I was in the minority and a regular said is observation was pretty much 50/50. And that Cory has said how many people have asked about the same things.
Too many times fanboys don't realize they do their idol more harm than good opening up their mouths with nothing worth saying. He needs to get a life.
