Died immediately after update, as did my wife's captain. Me: lvl 17 crazy, inquisition cruiser, first ship encountered was way beyond any before. Wife: lvl 24 crazy, same thing basically. Coincidence, or major algorithm changes? Dave

No -- Zero changes in Game or GameRules -- only in the ShipCatalog and ResourceLoader

OMG Spline!?! Yall are awesome, stephen baxter rocks.
Was wondering what happens when you download and install an update? Its always a big file (8.76mb). I noticed alot of posts of ppl dying after updates, though you say update wouldnt affect. Its like a startraders superstition, wonder if you just notice THAT death cause you just updated.
Ever try to test if theres a difference?

antixeele - as developers, we are always installing our own versions of the updates (constantly) and then playing existing captains. Since there have been (always announced) changes to the combat system, it is a superstition. If there are changes to any combat algorithm, if will be posted in the update log. If you are superstitious, maybe play a non-favorite captain for a little bit after an upgrade?

Ah, haha, so as use up the death on a scapegoat character! Fallen, if the goal is rational thinking, then your not helping! Update death hasnt happened to me personally. Yet...

Installing a new version does clear some caches inside of Android.
In earlier versions this would clear the troop bonus and exchanges.
This caused (in the v2 days) there to be a superstition that the 2% maximum from Crew bonus was worth playing differently after updates.
This was corrected a long time ago and at the time (and this morning) I have done a bunch of testing.
My report is that there is no difference aside from memory usage and luck.

Wait a minute, there are Captain's wives? Okay... LOL I now see a reason to go out of Basic. Which level brings the wife? In Basic I have to make sure I hire a couple sluts on my crew to keep me happy in space.

Coincidence, or major algorithm changes? Dave I am sad for your loss but really happy that there are couples who play ST together.

Does - Improves Memory Performance mean the game will be more stable on low-memory devices? I see game crashes (OutOfMemory ones) fairly often.
