What exactly constitutes a perfect contract? I've done 9 thus far, all successful on difficult with no award (There's one for 5).

Did you go to the Palace, visit the Hall of Records and "Record Exploits" ?

I'm experiencing this problem...do all five have to be from one nation? Or all five without rejecting another contract in-between or something?

I mixed up some greater-than and greater-than-or-equal-to.
For the current release you need "Greater than 5" (AKA, 6) contracts in 102 turns (2 years)

koles,
Tell me what the awards should be, I'll add them right in. Too easy? What would you consider a challenge?

The one award that I found rather silly is the one where you reach rank 3 in less than 4 years. I'm fairly certain that when I first got the award, it took me less than 20 minutes to get it. I'd like to see either an increase in rank required, or a decrease in time allotted.

I think having a few easy awards is a good idea. That's why there are more with progressively higher requirements. It's just that many of those have yet to be finished by being given a payout for completion. Personally I think the current requirements are fine, so long as the rewards are progressively better.
When I unlocked the ship aperio caliga I wasn't thrilled to find it was a lesser ship than the vae victus. But if the rewards for more difficult medals payed out with more powerful unlocks, then I don't mind if the first payouts are less than fabulous.

the next release updates all the starting ships so they're worth 91,000 credits each.
i also copied 3-4 random 91,000 credit ships from the catalog for Elite.
So RPG has 3 starting ships, all roughly equal but different.
Elite has 10 starting ships, 5 of which are unlockable and 5 of which are open.
I'm not sure exactly what "story mode" will mean, but right now the Victus is a plot element, so I suspect you'll have to start a special type of game to engage the campaign events

personaly for me if there is award there must be a challenge without it, award is not award but rather 'checked thing' ... nothing special unlocked futures are boosts for our captain: better ships, upgrades, oficers... they dont unlock new chapter for longer play, they just give adventage

edit: still can't get this award to unlock, been trying over and over and I must ne doing something wrong, I've done 6 in a year but no love Great to know more options for starter ships are on the way. While that does alter the victus plot element, I think the unlockable ships could all be slightly to significantly more powerful than the victus, and these would serve as a boost to replay value. But if you put some of the better unlocks around the *must have victus* req. You could allow for a plot heavy first run through the game, and then allow for a more open book style of play after that. Allowing a ship to "level up" could be a huge element of this. After a set of prerequisites are met (exp gained, level of captain, etc.), a captain could go to port for a general upgrading process. This would give the current ship boosts in areas of the captain's choosing. For instance he could spend his alotted 'upgrade points' on a stronger hull or a few more guns, or whatever other part would be important to the captain. This allows for more customization (who doesn't love that?) And it creates ship loyalty, encouraging people to consider the option of sticking with an older but upgraded ship, or starting fresh on a stronger foundation and building up a new ship. Naturally more powerful ships would get more upgrade points. And this would keep the idea of eventually shifting vessels appealing. In retrospect, this should've gone in the wishes section, but I really love this idea, and you can't control where or when inspiration will smack ya in the head lol!

That's what Dry Dock accomplishes, letting you upgrade and stash ships.
A fun new element. I think as the number of available upgrades advances towards the complete set, ship configuration and collection will become increasingly important.

For Exemplar Contractor (50), what exactly does it mean by "executing 50 contracts with honor"? I've completed 61 on my bounty hunter, went to record exploits, and didn't get the reward. Do I have to complete 50 in a row without failing any or letting them expire?
