I've been working on making a Vindex that can't get hit (hard mode). The setup I used did really well the first time, I got through the trial of assassins and beat Zerod while barely getting hit. This time, the 2nd bounty hunter completely outclassed me in everything at the start of battle, and I couldn't buff myself high enough to stop getting hit.
Ship Setup: Large:Engine(Chaser), Cargo Hold 5 Medium:Hyperwarp(Combat),Reinforced Barracks 3,Combat Med Clinic, Mass Reducer 4 Small:Scout Bridge 3,Reinforced officer quarters, XX-2 Lance(x1 to x3 depending on if I need weapons locker and passenger cabin), 4x Pilot Assist Module 4,Mass Modulator 4
I have 6 pilots, which put the efficiency at 150% when at high level, and everything else is at 200% or above.
In the later run there were only 2 things different:
1. My pilot efficiency was a bit lower, at 120%, because I had a pilot die late, but from what I understand anything over 100% makes no difference in combat.
2. First run through I buffed with Wild Flying, then Evasive Maneuvers, followed by Vigilant Scanners. The second time, I instead would just stack Evasive Manuevers until getting into range.
BTW, playing on mobile, but according to the bros the only difference there us UI.
Any help you can give me would really be appreciated, I'm starting to get very frustrated with hard mode.
