Hi all, I'm still new-ish to the game so if I'm missing something please advise.
So I tried an explorer/xeno hunter captain, and after building up a few black market contacts to sell my artifacts one suddenly dropped to 2 influence and another disappeared entirely. I concluded this was due to losing a conflict, but it had a massive impact on my non-political character. It would be nice to know:
A) which contacts are involved in or affected by a conflict B) whose missions will affect this conflict so I can step in
In this particular case, it would be nice to not have to intervene to preserve my infrastructure if all I want to do is explore for goods and fight bugs. If Conflicts are meant to be this disruptive, then I think it should be spelled out more at character creation.
On the flipside, right now I'm playing a Zealot captain, and I'd like to know the specific effects of the massive swings in a conflict that I create. A list of contacts with influence gains, etc.
Off the top of my head, maybe on the faction politics screen it could list your current contacts being affected by a conflict under each header-- i.e., Solar War Cadar vs Steel Song, Contacts affected: person 1, person 2, etc. Then, have a screen showing the record of each conflict as they end (it will be a long list) where you can see the +/- of influence.

cabal615 - thanks for the feedback! Conflicts can defintely be pretty disruptive, but you want to support your Contacts in one way or another -- doing missions, selling intel, helping with Conflicts. Otherwise, don't expect your "infrastructure" to stay strong without help. We'll work on improving the logging of who is harmed / helped by Conflicts.
