Meet Miss Yum, Templar Retired XenoHunter who to get some addtional cash, works as part of galaxy wide salvage network.
Top Offer, fastest information about when and were to be. But shes not that reliable it seems...
Very soon? Thats less than week not very first alert.
and since i understand that salvage rumors are not generated by those contacts, just revealed to player when buying i would like to suggest either
- maybe include minimal 'remaining time' tied with contact service levels (possibly by extending remaining time of already active rumor if under certain threshold - change the order of bought rumors to be sorted by time left, descending, capped by contact service level
cheers

Those are all good ideas. I've gotten similar rumors that were also 11 jumps away. As the text in your screenshot mentions, the quality level 1-5 only relates to how much the rumor costs, not how good it is. This RNG is a little more painful than what happens for other types of contacts.

Highly suggest playing a Salvager on a small (<16 quad) map. No sense in rushing all across a giant map to get to an ending rumor.

En1gma why play on 16 quad map when 1 quad map would never make you fly anywhere, hmm ? this aint about maps, nor doing the salvage achiv/unlocks. this about quite high chance of your 'trusted' contact offering you worthless rumors for full price, based on said rumor sorting (i guess it takes and offers 1st one from the array of active and unknown salvage rumors happening). and about how maybe it could be changed - since, suggestion topic. besides 16 quad map wont change anything if you gona get four 4weeks or less rumors anyway, when sometimes warp can take 3 weeks.
