I am confused by the way the game handles the slots in regard of certain modules you have to have (bridge and drives). As the larger ships have to have three large slots for these three modules they have actually relative few slots left for other modules. The humble Galteck Heavylift is probably the best trader in game even the much larger AEGIS Frighter can just match it in regards of large slots that could be dedicated to cargo.
The situation feels very unintuitive with certain ships like the Degla Megalift which looks massive and is described as a "Massive Cargo Lifter" but can only dedicate 2 large slots to cargo. I do not know if this is working as intended but for me it feels wrong. Probably the Given Modules (Bridge Drive and Engine) should be taken out of the equation and the number of slots should be revised.

Very interesting! Sorry to hear you dislike the design, we will keep working to improve in the future.
We will continue to release new ships and additional components for the game.
Thanks for playing!

The Aegis Freighter can easily exceed Galtak's cargo capacity by using some of its numerous medium slots. There is a medium slot component that gives +25 cargo capacity; stack a few of those and you'll have lots of extra cargo space. Although even though it has much less potential cargo capacity, I agree that Galtak Heavylift is probably the best for pure merchants because of its greater speed and fuel efficiency relative to the heavier classes.

We know every ship will have one slot filled by engine, one by hyperwarp and one by bridge. But, for any ship, I have never learned how to predict which size slot will be filled. This doesn't show up on the ship wiki page either. I am often forced to save-game and *buy* the ship just to get all this info. It would certainly be helpful if the ship wiki page, or any other page even in game, showed this in advance of purchase.

Doesn't show up in the spreadsheet wiki page we were discussing: startraders.gamepedia.com/Ships. It would be nice if that showed the available slots, after removing the fixed ones. Even better if it also excluded the mass reducer slots which you are stuck with. (I know you won't do that, you love the mass reducer equations)

One "sort" is much easier than back, write down, sort again,back,forward,...
