Could someone check my understanding of the stats we see for weapons? Power is Damage, Penetration gets through the enemy's Ballistics or Deflection, Accuracy is hit change, ammo and range are self explanatory. I can't seem to find where it indicates it deals MP vs HP damage. I assume that AP is the AP required to use it? What about Speed? Is it better to have a higher Speed than a lower? I'm looking at a rifle and a more expensive SMG. The rifle is AP 3, Speed 2, while the SMG is something like AP 5, Speed 4. Does that mean it costs more AP to fire the SMG? But is that balanced by Speed? I don't understand.

Speed is the number of shots you get each time you attack. AP is the number of AP it costs you to make an attack. So your example rifle takes 3 AP to attack vs. 5 AP for an attack with the SMG. But the SMG will shoot 4 times during that attack, and the rifle only twice.
Note: A high speed makes aiming more valuable, relatively speaking.

@abs Mmm but the Speed value is the number of shots availables(with or without "s"?? XD) in the combat menu(where u shoot the enemy)? dark By now Penetration is less important 'cause enemies don't wear armors(so it was some releases ago ^^)...However yeah it's used for what u said =) abs well answered to other values,so i don't write any else XD

I think so Slide. I've noticed that if I "Position" or "Aim" before an attack I sometimes seem to get an extra shot. But yeah, I think the general rule is "Speed = number of shots available in the combat menu".
I have no real clue on how damage is determined. It's clearly related to power, but there's some randomness and probably some other variables involved (like maybe accuracy, range, & skill) that I'm just not sure on.

yeah normally it's equal to Power Value of the used weapon, but often with some enemies(usually the stronger ones) caused damage is inferior(but surely it doesn't depend from Penetration, always for the No-armor stuff, that i said before^^)...I hope TB will post or will add more detailed combat rules help ^^

You get xtra attacks based on your stats, don't know the formula but you can easily check it with a speed 1 weapon. No skill means 1 attack but at around 5+ you will get bonus attack and at around 9 or more you get another...or something like that.

Yeah, for xtra attacks,i noticed those^^i also noticed that if u miss the first hit often the turn ends,if u have enough APs or not...I repeat,it isn't a basilar add,but more combat explainations could be nice,in the future =)

I've never gotten to 9 in anything..... *sad face*
I wonder if being stimmed-up effects it as well. I'm fascinated by what that seems to be impacting.

So in general, Shots-per-AP would be Speed/AP? Good to know, thanks.
Do you guys consider it more important to get lots of shots off (high Speed but high AP cost) or be able to have AP for other things (low AP cost, but lower Speed)?

Beh,the solution is to find the right weapon ^^ Or anyway the weapon that satisfies your taste ^^ The Best mix is average power(4~5)/average accuracy(4~5)/average range(4)/average speed(3+),but obviously there aren't weapons of this type...=) mk251 is a good rifle, for example... For me,speed and accuracy are the first values i prefer,'cause with accurate and many shots u can pratically kill any enemy u encounter...even if the weapon has power 2,with 3~4 good shots u can make 6-8 damage....if u have a power 8 weapon, but u only can shoot one bullet x turn and probably u miss the hit for weapon low accuracy, then that weapon is no-useful...;-) example? Fn-par ^^ obvious,if u have a good FIREARMS value,fn-par is devastating xD

A low ap weapon can save your life by allowing more ap left to move so you don't get swarmed.
A high ap weapon can save your life because they are usually one shot one kill types...or a big spray of bullets.
Haveing one of each will allow you to choose what's best for the situation.
Just my opinion. ;D
I like the Fn-par for big game and the lightfire for danceing around.

Yes i concur,there isn't a best weapon,but the best weapon for the situation,yes^^ the mk251 bounty rifle is an average weapon,good power,good speed,good accuracy,and auto rounds(not the cheapest rounds,ok,but affordables)...=) yeah,it depends from skills,gameplay style eccecc ^^

Also speed 4 weapon uses 4 times the ammo per attack. (shoot 4 times, use ammo 4 times) so if both guns use the same ammo type, then a 4 damage and 2 speed weapon iw more ammo efficient than a 2 damage 4 speed weapon.

Assuming you are interested in rifles at all, then If your firearms skill is low, get the mk251 Bounty. Kills drones with 1 shot, and with 5 accuracy you actually will hit what you shoot at. As your firearms skill improves, get a Hunter Sight. Once you can reliably shoot drones with this, use it instead, because it is more powerful, with a longer range, and holds more ammo.
