Suggestion - Transfer ship components between ships

It would be great if we could transfer some components from an old ship to a new ship. Obviously there is time and money involved but it would be great not to lose the investment of certain components when upgrading to a new hull. A simple example would be the weapons locker - couldn't this be extracted and added to my new ship for some amount of cost and time?

Thanks for the suggestion! Ship components are built into a ship's superstructure and cannot be transfered.
